Suzuki recently marked its entry in the quarter-litre segment in India by launching its all-new Gixxer SF 250. Alongside that, it also pulled off the sheets from the less powerful Gixxer SF. Now, speculations are being made that there is a possibility that Suzuki might launch new Intruder 250 and 155 in the near future.

It’s quite clear that the Intruder 250 would be powered by the same engine that we’ve seen in the new Gixxer SF 250. It’ll be a 249cc single-cylinder, oil-cooled engine that produces 26 horsepower and 22.6 Nm of torque. Similarly, the Intruder 155 would have the 155cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine of the Gixxer SF.

Suzuki might also include some of the latest features like the updated fully digital instrument cluster, LED headlight and taillight, dual disc brakes with single channel ABS, etc. The overall riding posture is likely to be the same as that of the current Intruder. We would definitely like to see a revised design because the present one isn’t that great. What do you think?

The engine of the Gixxer SF 250 is brand new which means that Suzuki had spent a lot of time and money in developing it from ground zero. And putting this engine in multiple products makes more sense as it will not only help the brand to have a bigger footprint in the country but also recover its investment. Suzuki has already confirmed that it’s working on the Gixxer 250, a naked version of the faired SF 250, which will have the new 249cc engine. And a new Intruder 250 makes sense.

If launched, the Intruder 250 would compete against the Bajaj Avenger 220 whereas its younger sister, the Intruder 155, would go toe-to-toe with the less power Avenger 160. The design and styling of the Intruder isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, so pricing will definitely play a major role in its fate.
