Indian Motorcycle became the centre of attention last year when it unveiled its spanking-new 2020 Challenger. Later, the bike was also showcased at the EICMA 2019. Thankfully, Indian Challenger will make its way to India, we just didn’t know when. However, as per the latest reports, bookings for the new Challenger are now open in the country which hints at a near launch.

Apparently, a few Indian Motorcycle dealerships across the country have started accepting bookings for the 2020 Indian Challenger. Not many details regarding the same are known yet. But this could mean that Indian Motorcycle might be planning to launch the new 2020 Challenger sooner than expected.

The Challenger is the first Indian bike to get the brand’s new PowerPlus engine, the most powerful engine it has ever built. It is a 1,769cc, liquid-cooled, 60-degree V-twin engine that produces 121 bhp of max power at 5,500 rpm and an enormous torque of 173.5 Nm that kicks in at 3,800 rpm!

Indian Challenger gets a front fairing with full-LED lighting. We really like the design and shape of the headlight. Being true to its nature, American Bagger, the Challenger has various touring elements like-

  • Electronic cruise control
  • Long-haul seat
  • Weatherproof saddlebags with over 68-litres of storage space
  • Adjustable windscreen
  • Adjustable air vents

It is also loaded with a plethora of high-tech features like Smart Lean Technology, keeping riders confidently grounded by utilising a Bosch IMU to add cornering pre-control to the dynamic traction control and ABS, as well as Drag Torque Control. And, of course, there is also Indian’s 7-inch RideCommand which includes weather and traffic overlays, key vehicle information, Bluetooth and USB mobile pairing, and an all-new quad-core processor for faster response.

We are expecting to come across more details regarding the Challenger’s launch in the coming months. As of now, it seems that it could make it to the dealerships somewhere by mid-2020. What do you think?
