KTM have unveiled their all new adventure touring motorcycle – the 1190 Adventure and the 1190 Adventure R at the Intermot. Featuring a 1195cc V twin that produces 150 horses, this KTM is all set take a big pie from BMW‘s GS market share. The KTM Adventure comes with a light trellis frame made of chrome molybdenum steel along with WP suspensions and weighs 230kgs along with the ABS.
The 1190 Adventure is targeted to be a balance of both onroad and light offroad usage, while the 1190 Adventure R is for the bad boy on dirt. The R version features bigger wheels (21-inch front, 18-inch rear), more suspension travel, off-road tyres, wider handlebars, higher seat, a crash bar for increased protection, a lower wind-shield, and a fully adjustable suspension. The R also gets C-ABS and 4-stage traction control, both of which can be fully disengaged or used in off-road mode.
