2013 KTM Duke 390 launch on 25th June

We knew it was coming, and last week we pretty much had the date and now we have an official confirmation. The 2013 KTM Duke 390 will be launched in India on 25th June at Pune. The Duke 390 will be the second KTM to go on sale in India and is a whole lot similar to the 200 except for the bigger engine, the colour scheme, ABS and the Metzeler tyres. The Duke 390 which produces a 44HP with a kerb weight (fully loaded with fuel and oil) of just over 150 kgs has a power to weight ratio that makes it do a 5 something second 0 – 100 and a top whack of about 165kmph. Those figures make it a very powerful package for India and with an expected price in the area of 2.2 lakhs it will be an awesome value for money package as well.

Although the bike is visually similar to the Duke 200, it is just not simply a Duke 200 engine with a bigger bore and stroke. Infact almost all of the engine internals are different so that it can handle all that power with reliability. The most distinguishing factor externally is the orange frame and of course the new sticker job. The ABS on this makes a whole lot of sense and is much welcome and it can also be turned off when not needed. We pretty much already know everything about this new Duke 390 everything on paper that is and all that is remaining is a full fledged Duke 390 review IAMABIKER style, which will shortly follow after the launch which of course we will be covering as well. Check out the KTM Duke 390 specifications below.
