Moto Guzzi, an Italian motorcycle manufacturer which the common man is unaware of has already found a firm grip in the Indian motorcycle market. Now, the company is all set to expand its portfolio for its Indian customers by bringing in new machines, two of which are going to be the Moto Guzzi V9 Bobber and the Roamer.
Moto Guzzi bikes are known to have large V-Twin engines which protrude outwards from either side and the V9 Bobber and Roamer are no exception. Powering the Moto Guzzi V9 is a newly developed 850cc, 90 degree transverse V-Twin engine which is air cooled with an oil cooler. It has been tuned to churn out 55 horses at 6250 RPM and the peak torque is at 62 Nm at 3000 RPM. All this power and torque is transmitted to the rear wheel via a new 6-speed gearbox. The engine has been developed at the Moto Guzzi plant in Mandello del Largo and has a one-piece Marelli electronic injection system and is EU4 compliant.
The new Moto Guzzi V9 twins looks spectacular. There is something special about the Italians, only they can make a perfect blend of classic and modern looks. For the Moto Guzzi India fans, the new bikes will be coming to our shores but an exact date hasn’t been defined. We are expecting to see the Moto Guzzi V9 series along with some other new products from the Italian’s house by the end of the year. The Bobber and the Roamer will be coming via the CBU route and it should be priced above INR 8 lacs. Moto Guzzi plans to expand its network in India and even start assembling motorcycles locally depending on the response to their new motorcycles.
