KTM 790 Duke, one of the most anticipated motorcycles of the year, was supposed to be launched in India by the end of 2019, however, it seems that’s not going to happen. As per our colleagues at Autocar India, the launch of the 790 Duke has been delayed because the homologation process is taking longer than expected.

This news comes as a big disappointment since everyone was really looking forward to seeing the 790 Duke in flesh. Now, it’s being said that the launch may happen next year. While we continue to wait, the 790 Duke is already on sale in some international markets.

So what KTM would do in the meanwhile?

KTM has been testing the 390 Adventure for quite some time now. Its test mule has been spotted in the country a few times in the past. Also, a production-ready test bike was spied recently undergoing final stage check-ups. So, we are keeping our fingers crossed. We also know that Husqvarna is expected to enter the Indian market pretty soon. It has been testing its Vitpilen 401 and Svartpilen 401 models in India. Test mules of both of the bikes were spotted earlier this year.

Considering all this, speculations are being made that with the 790 Duke launch temporarily off the table, KTM would have time to focus on bringing the new 390 Adventure and the Husqvarna bikes in India.
