The 2021 Aprilia RSV4 has been revealed. The motorcycle features a major redesign along with several improvements in its electronics. It is now available in two variants — Standard and Factory, with the Factory variant getting a higher spec in terms of hardware.
The 2021 Aprilia RSV4 has received a complete redesign, especially at the front-end. It is now sleeker, and more aggressive. Up front is the signature triple headlamp design, although it is now more curvaceous. The inspiration from the Aprilia RS 660 is obvious as Aprilia attempts to standardise the design across its entire product range.
The voluptuous fuel tank has been redesigned and the fairing at the sides are large. It even gets winglets covered by a small portion of the fairing. The Moto-GP inspired frame and swingarm are exposed and adds to the design element. The rear-end continues to be a simple, yet sharp affair.
The Standard variant is available in a single colour scheme called Dark Losail. The Factory variant on the other hand is available in two colour schemes — Aprilia Black and Lava Red. Both variants of the 2021 Aprilia RSV4 are powered by the same engine.
It now gets a 1,099cc engine which is slightly larger in displacement when compared to the 1,077cc engine that powered the outgoing model and it now pushes out 214bhp. It also features a new exhaust system. It is also now Euro 5/BS6 emissions norms compliant. The 2021 Aprilia RSV4 comes with a comprehensive electronics suite.
It features an 11MP ECU from Marelli that together with the IMU governs the traction control, wheelie control, engine brake control, cornering ABS, etc. Aprilia has equipped the motorcycle with six ride modes — three for the track and three for the road. In terms of hardware, the Aprilia RSV4 Factory gets the Ohlins Smart EC 2.0 semi-active suspension and Brembo Stylema brake calipers.
The Standard version gets manually adjustable suspension. The 2021 Aprilia RSV4 will arrive at dealerships in Europe within a few days while the Indian launch will happen later this year.
