The Bajaj Pulsar 180F has been discontinued. The Pulsar 180F has been taken off the Bajaj Auto website which indicates that Bajaj has discontinued the motorcycle. Further adding to the discontinuation theory is the fact that Bajaj relaunched the naked/streetfighter Pulsar 180 only a week ago.
The Bajaj Pulsar 180 first debuted in 2001 alongside the Pulsar 150. Over a span of nearly two decades, the Pulsar 180 amassed a huge fan following and got several small updates and a few generational updates to keep it with the times. Yet another motorcycle that enjoys a large fan following in the Bajaj portfolio is the Pulsar 220F.
It is clear that buyers love the design and Bajaj tried to incorporate the same design into the Pulsar 180. In February 2019, Bajaj launched the Pulsar 180F that looked exactly like the Pulsar 220F. However, the naked/streetfighter Pulsar 180 outsold the 180F by a huge margin.
A few months ago, in an attempt to increase sales of the Pulsar 180F, Bajaj discontinued the Pulsar 180 roadster. That plan certainly seems to have backfired as Bajaj relaunched the Pulsar 180 Roadster only a week ago. Now, two years after its launch, Bajaj has discontinued the production of the Pulsar 180F. The main reason for this could be the dismal sales numbers.
Now though, we expect sales numbers to increase thanks to the relaunch of the Pulsar 180. It carries the familiar Pulsar design language and styling. Powering the 2021 Pulsar 180 is the same air-cooled, 178.6cc, single-cylinder engine with a maximum power output of 16.7bhp and a peak torque output of 14.52Nm. A 5-speed gearbox drives the rear wheel.
Braking is taken care of by a single disc brake at both ends. Suspension duties are handled by a telescopic fork up front and twin gas-charged shocks at the rear. The all-new next-generation Bajaj Pulsar series is expected to be launched later this year.
