The Aprilia Tuareg Rally was developed using the extensive expertise gained by Aprilia Racing in designing the Tuareg racing bike, in technical collaboration with the Guareschi brothers’ GCorse. Leveraging the strong off-road capabilities of the standard Tuareg, this bike quickly set a new standard for twin-cylinder adventure motorcycles. It clinched the 2023 Italian Motorally Championship with Jacopo Cerutti—who retained the title this year—and made a sensational debut in the desert, dominating the Africa Eco Race from the first stage to the legendary Dakar finish line at Lac Rose.

Jacopo Cerutti, an official rider for Aprilia Racing and key figure in this African triumph on the Italian twin-cylinder, also played an instrumental role in the Aprilia Tuareg Rally’s development. “Being involved in developing a production model like the new Tuareg Rally was fascinating,” said the Como-born rider. “The goal was to make it as close as possible to the bike we used to win the Africa Eco Race, and I think we’ve succeeded! The Tuareg was already an excellent platform for problem-free off-road riding, but the Rally version takes it a step further, nearly reaching the level of a full rally raid bike. With the right tires, it’s capable of crossing desert dunes with ease. My experience was invaluable in refining the electronics, leading to a new engine map that offers quicker, more decisive throttle response. Additionally, adjustments to the chassis, including a fork that provides better support and a shock absorber that more effectively absorbs potholes at speed, improve the bike’s overall stability.”

The Tuareg Rally’s off-road identity is evident with its high mudguard and a newly designed, thicker aluminum skid plate, featuring a rugged finish and more protective shape for better resistance to mechanical impacts. Additional protections include sturdy hand guards with metal cores. A new standard chain guide enhances safety in extreme off-road conditions.

Special attention to rider ergonomics improves control off-road, featuring a seat that’s 20 mm higher to ease transitions between seated and standing positions and a taller, reshaped handlebar for improved handling. The heavy-duty spoked wheels with Ergal narrow rims use inner-tube tires, while the Kayaba suspension, with an impressive 240 mm of travel, now includes springs with a linear constant K instead of a progressive one. While this change slightly affects comfort, it greatly enhances off-road handling and gives the rider more control on rough terrain. The firmer suspension also reduces static sag, making the Tuareg Rally taller and extending its effective suspension travel. The stand features an enlarged support foot, offering stable parking on rough or soft surfaces.

The Tuareg Rally, along with the entire 2025 Tuareg lineup, includes a specially developed engine map for quick, responsive throttle action, enabling easier navigation over obstacles in demanding off-road conditions—a significant advantage when tackling tough terrain.

The bike also features a dedicated SC Project exhaust system with a fully titanium silencer, complete with an aggressive, racing-style end cap and a 60 mm outlet. Combined with the wheel assembly, the exhaust system reduces the bike’s overall weight from 204 kg to 199 kg in running order.

The Aprilia Tuareg Rally is instantly recognizable with its distinctive Rally race replica color scheme, closely resembling the winning Tuareg that crossed the Dakar finish line. Its sporty aesthetic includes gold-anodized forks, wheel rims, and handlebars.

New Look for the 2025 Tuareg Range

The updates to the Aprilia Tuareg at EICMA 2024 go beyond the debut of the Rally version, with new styling and technical upgrades across the entire lineup, along with compliance with Euro 5+ regulations.

To improve efficiency, the 660 twin-cylinder engine now features 52 mm throttle bodies, up from the previous 48 mm, and a new rare-earth generator that reduces inertia, enhancing acceleration. The Tuareg maintains its iconic horizontally arranged triple headlamp, but the front design has been refined, with a slimmer superstructure around the headlamp cluster for a more dynamic, streamlined look.

The Aprilia Tuareg is now available in two new color options—Tornado Green and Hailstorm White—each featuring a distinctive red-painted frame.

An extensive range of original accessories for the Aprilia Tuareg has been expanded, including Rally-specific features like heavy-duty spoked wheels, a reinforced skid plate, and a chain guide, now available as options for the standard Tuareg. The catalog also offers a TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System) sensor. A comfort seat—available in standard height, raised by 2 cm, and lowered by 2 cm—now includes heating elements and can be controlled via the handlebar when the Aprilia MIA multimedia platform accessory is installed.
