Ather Energy, announced a major expansion today with plans to establish a new manufacturing facility in Bidkin, AURIC, Maharashtra. This strategic move will see the company produce both electric two-wheelers and battery packs at the new location.
Ather currently operates two manufacturing plants in Hosur, Tamil Nadu, dedicated to battery production and vehicle assembly, respectively. These facilities will continue to play a vital role in Ather’s production strategy.
The Maharashtra plant signifies a significant step for Ather, allowing them to:
- Reduce logistics costs and expedite customer deliveries by being closer to key markets.
- Ramp up production capacity to meet the surging demand for electric two-wheelers in India.
- Solidify Ather’s position as a frontrunner in EV manufacturing by leveraging Maharashtra’s supportive business environment.

Swapnil Jain, Co-founder & CTO at Ather Energy, commented: “Our existing facilities in Hosur have served us well, but this expansion allows us to cater to the growing demand for our scooters more efficiently. The Maharashtra government’s EV-friendly policies were a major factor in our decision. We’re confident this new plant will not only streamline logistics but also accelerate scooter deliveries to our customers.”
Ather’s commitment to growth extends beyond manufacturing:
- The company boasts a continuously expanding product portfolio, with the recent introduction of the family-friendly Ather Rizta scooter.
- Ather’s national network strengthens with over 200 Experience Centers and a robust charging infrastructure exceeding 1900 Ather Grid stations.
