Jindal Mobilitric, the EV arm of Jindal Worldwide Ltd, has taken the wraps off its latest all-electric two-wheeler — the R40 — promising an impressive 165 km range on a single charge. With production already in place and a growing dealer network, the company is set to make serious waves in India’s electric mobility space.

EV Ambitions Backed by Serious Infrastructure

The R40 launch marks Jindal Worldwide’s official entry into the electric vehicle segment, and they’re not tiptoeing in. The brand has set up a state-of-the-art manufacturing plant in Ahmedabad with an annual capacity of 2.5 lakh vehicles, plus a fully automated in-house battery production facility with the same capacity.

That battery plant is a major move—it means tighter control over quality and safety, something EV buyers care deeply about. With battery safety at the core of their pitch, Jindal Mobilitric is aiming to build trust right from the start.

Dealer Network Ready, Homologation Pending

The R40 is currently awaiting homologation clearance, after which it will be rolled out via the company’s existing 35-dealer network, which is expected to grow to 100 dealerships within the next year.

According to a company spokesperson:

“Electric mobility is the future of transportation and our foray into EV production is a strategic and significant milestone for us. The R&D for the R40 was done completely in-house, and we’re excited for what’s to come.”
