The Vespa LX125 came in to India in 2012 and despite its steep pricing it was accepted with a lot of enthusiasm and since its launch sold about 25,000 units across India. This although not that big a number compared to the other scooter sales, is still quite high considering the initial pricing.
Now as a relief to future customers and fans, Piaggio have announced a price cut that and the revised price now stands at INR 59,996 ex-showroom Delhi. Although this still is higher than the on road price of the second costliest scooter, it definitely makes the Vespa more accessible to its strong fan following. The reason for the price drop is due to a higher level of localization on the parts and also due to the expansion of the existing factory.
