The Ducati Multistrada V4 has been spotted testing once again, but this time it is out in the wild. Revzilla posted spy images of the motorcycle while it is being ridden off-road and it is quite a sight to behold. It is also for the first time that the off-road variant of the motorcycle has been spotted.
The Ducati Multistrada is one of the most versatile motorcycles in the world. It was conceived as a grand tourer, but ended up becoming a motorcycle that can take on anything thrown at it. It is currently Ducati’s best-selling motorcycle and continues to sell well. However, Ducati has been working on expanding the Multistrada range and that is what gave rise to the Multistrada V4.
The Ducati Multistrada V4 has been in the making for a long time now. It uses almost the same Multistrada platform but is powered by the well-known Ducati V4 engine. As mentioned before, it has been in the making for a long time now and hence we have seen spy pictures of the motorcycle before.
However, the images were not very clear and didn’t exactly give us a good look at the bike. Also, the test mules spotted till now were all of the road-biased variant. This time though, the spy images posted by Revzilla are very clear and it seems like a professional photographer captured these images.
The motorcycle is being ridden off-road, and the spoked wheels shod with dual-purpose tyres make us believe this is the off-road biased variant. While most of the design features including the badging, graphics and colour is hidden, the images also reveal a few technical features the Ducati Multistrada V4 will come with.
The front-end features a radar unit between the headlamps. This could be used in the collision avoidance system and can also alert the driver about blind spots. Other changes when compared to the current Multistrada include a double-sided swingarm and a new electronics system.
It will come with the best in terms of electronic rider aids. It will also feature various riding modes, cruise control, cornering ABS, traction control, etc. Ducati will not replace the Multistrada V2 with the upcoming V4, but will position the Multistrada V4 higher up in the range.
The Ducati Multistrada V4 was expected to be launched at the 2020 EICMA motorcycle show. However, the event has been canceled thanks to the pandemic and hence we expect a digital launch for the Multistrada V4.
