Royal Enfield is all set to introduce bluetooth and navigation in its upcoming motorcycles. This will make for a major improvement on Royal Enfield motorcycles and is a huge departure for the brand as it has till now stuck to traditional motorcycles with minimal electronics.
Royal Enfield is one of those motorcycle manufacturers that is revered in major markets across the globe. It makes retro-styled motorcycles and these motorcycles have a huge fanbase as well. However, it is not just the styling of the motorcycles that is retro.
In-fact, the engine, electrical system, instrument cluster, etc, were ancient and while it did give riders the retro feel, it didn’t really impress those wanting a modern motorcycle. Royal Enfield stirred things up a bit with the launch of the Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650.
While the engine and overall ride felt modern compared to the rest of the motorcycles in its line-up, the analogue instrumentation didn’t feel quite so. According to a report, Royal Enfield is set to change that in the coming day with its upcoming motorcycles.
The company’s upcoming motorcycles are reportedly set to feature new instrumentation with bluetooth smartphone connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation features. We have already seen TVS Motor Company and Hero MotoCorp incorporating this feature in their motorcycles and scooters.
Features like this instantly boost the overall value of the vehicle and increase the desirability factor too. The upcoming Royal Enfield Meteor 350 is expected to be the first motorcycle with these new features.
The Meteor will replace the Thunderbird in Royal Enfield’s portfolio. It is based on an all-new platform and features an all-new engine as well. The Royal Enfield Meteor is touted to be the start of a new era for the company and it will come with new features to support this claim.
Given that it uses a new platform and engine too, the ride quality as well must have improved massively over the current generation of Royal Enfield motorcycles. Soon after the lockdown is lifted completely, we expect to hear more about the Royal Enfield Meteor’s launch.
