Royal Enfield’s legendary yearly ride into the mountains — the Himalayan Odyssey — has flagged off its 21st edition from Chandigarh, bringing together adventure-hungry riders for yet another unforgettable journey through the Himalayas. Over the past two decades, this ride has become a bucket-list event for bikers around the world, known for its mix of stunning landscapes, tough terrain, and strong sense of camaraderie.
True to tradition, the 2025 edition began with a vibrant Ladakhi ceremony where Buddhist lamas blessed the riders before they set off. This year, 77 riders — including participants from India, Argentina, the US, Germany, Brazil, South Korea, and more — will cover over 2,600 km in 18 days, riding through the breathtaking regions of Spiti, Zanskar, and Ladakh. While many are first-timers, some are returning for a second (or third!) go, with at least one rider coming back after a decade — proof of the lasting magic of the Himalayan Odyssey.
The ride is split into two groups: Team Spiti and Team Zanskar, each tackling a different loop across Himachal Pradesh and Ladakh. Team Spiti heads out via Narkanda, Kalpa, and Kaza before looping through Keylong, Sarchu, and onward to Leh, Hanle, and Umling La — the highest motorable pass in the world — before returning through Padum and Manali. Team Zanskar takes the reverse route, starting through Manali and Padum, then continuing to Leh and Umling La, and finally looping back through the Spiti valley.
Both groups will reunite in Chandigarh on July 15, 2025, having completed one of the most grueling and scenic motorcycle rides out there — a mix of smooth highways and wild, remote trails that demand focus, grit, and a love for the open road.
