VinFast the popular EV car brand is entering the 2 wheeler space and has officially signing Letters of Intent (LOIs) with its first batch of more than 50 e-motorcycle dealer partners in India. The milestone covers 15 states and territories, marking the company’s very first dedicated distribution network for e-motorcycles in the country.
The agreement was formalised during a signing ceremony at VinFast’s Manufacturing Complex in Hai Phong, Vietnam. The event formed part of a wider working visit and factory tour for the newly partnered Indian dealership team.
Strategic Reach Across 34 Cities
Under the newly forged partnerships, VinFast and its dealers will set up over 50 e-motorcycle showrooms across 34 key cities. The planned rollout spans every corner of the country:
- North: Delhi NCR, Rajasthan, and Punjab
- Central: Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Uttar Pradesh
- West: Maharashtra and Gujarat
- South: Karnataka, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Andhra Pradesh
- East: West Bengal and Odisha
These targeted cities and regions represent high-volume two-wheeler hubs where urban mobility electrification is primed for rapid growth. By establishing a firm presence in these locations, VinFast aims to deliver modern, economical, and sustainable transport solutions straight to local commuters.
Built on Trust and Industrial Scale
The Indian dealership partners had already recognised VinFast’s brand reputation and extensive product offering prior to their trip. However, seeing the scale of the company’s manufacturing facility, its stringent production standards, and the sheer volume of VinFast e-motorcycles already zipping around Vietnamese streets firsthand solidified their determination to fast-track network expansion back home in India.
Reflecting on the milestone, Ms. Vo Thi Cam Tu, Managing Director of VinFast E-Scooters Overseas Market, highlighted that India sits at the heart of VinFast’s international growth narrative. She noted that India stands out globally due to its vast market size, booming demand for electric mobility, and the unique chance it offers to reshape everyday transport. For VinFast, the signed LOIs signal long-term dedication and clear confidence in the region’s immense commercial potential.
Echoing this optimism, Mr. Anurag Saxena, CEO of VinFast India E-Scooters, described the team-up with over 50 dealer partners across 34 cities and 15 states and territories as just the starting line. He emphasised that alongside showroom expansion, the company is actively developing charging infrastructure and upgrading after-sales services so riders receive seamless support throughout their entire ownership experience.
Tapping Into the World’s Biggest Two-Wheeler Market
VinFast initially made its entry into India’s green mobility ecosystem back in 2025, taking on electric car distribution, manufacturing, and assembly. This latest move into e-motorcycles opens up a fresh growth phase for the brand.
The timing couldn’t be better. Driven by a massive population and an ever-growing demand for personal transport, India currently reigns as the world’s largest two-wheeler market. In fiscal year 2025–2026 alone, registrations hit 21.41 million two-wheelers. Yet, electric models made up just 6.54% of that total figure.
This vast gap highlights a massive runway for further electrification, opening up lucrative opportunities for VinFast to expand its footprint and capture significant market share in Indian urban mobility.
