The new Triumph Bonneville T40 and T40 Black has finally been unveiled along with an even more bare bone Bonneville T4 version. These new bikes are designed to bring the classic Bonneville riding experience to an even broader audience by blending traditional 1960s cool with modern tech and an entry-level 350cc powerplant.

Developed alongside Bajaj, the two models join Triumph’s globally successful 400 series platform—which already features the Speed 400, Scrambler 400 X, Scrambler 400 XC, Tracker 400, Thruxton 400, and Speed T4.

Timeless Design with Exceptional Detail

The new T40 and T40 Black carry over all the classic design cues that define the Bonneville silhouette:

  • A sculpted teardrop fuel tank complete with classic rubber knee pads and the iconic three-bar Triumph badge.
  • A traditional round LED headlight featuring a distinctive daytime running light (DRL) signature that switches automatically to dipped beam.
  • Traditional spoked wheels pairing an 18-inch front and a 17-inch rear lightweight aluminium rim with steel spokes.
  • Heritage styling details including a ribbed bench seat, longer mudguards, classically styled front forks, and twin rear shocks.

To keep the aesthetic clean, modern engineering like cables and hoses are hidden from view. Authentic touches like hand-painted coach lining on deep paint finishes, brushed peashooter silencers, and classically shaped aluminium engine covers with bright machined cooling fins further elevate the build. Branding is subtly integrated, appearing on engine covers, within the lights, and embossed into the front mudguard and handlebar clamp.

Colour Schemes & Finishes

  • Bonneville T40: Outfitted with chrome-finished mirrors and grab hoop, brushed aluminium heel guards, and a brushed steel exhaust. Paint options include Aegean Blue & Fusion White, Meriden Blue & Tangerine Orange, and New England White & Jet Black.
  • T40 Black: Features a darker look with black painted or powder-coated components, gloss-black aluminium wheel rims, bright steel spokes, and powder-coated engine casings. It comes in a Matt Pewter Grey & Matt Phantom Black finish.

Modern Rider Tech Meets Classic Charm

Despite their retro appearance, the T40 models boast a category-leading technology suite:

  • Circular 4-Inch TFT Display: Includes full smartphone connectivity (for music, phone calls, and contacts) and a Heritage Mode layout that mimics traditional analogue dials.
  • Built-in Navigation: Full map navigation and speed limit data powered by the Triumph Navigation App, offering route planning, GPX imports, and route sharing.
