The upcoming BMW F 450 RR has been spotted doing its final test runs in Europe ahead of its big reveal on October 15th 2026 and later at the EICMA happening from November 5 to 8, 2026.

This new fully faired motorcycle is built on the parallel-twin platform co-developed with and produced by TVS in India. Following the rollout of the F 450 GS and the F 450 R naked bike, the BMW F 450 RR marks the third model in this new entry-level family. While BMW previously used the “G 310 RR” moniker exclusively for Asian markets, the new F 450 RR is aimed globally, directly targeting European competitors like the Aprilia RS 457, Kawasaki 500s and the upcoming sub-500cc offerings from KTM.

Key Specifications and Hardware Details

  • Engine: Powered by the same 420cc parallel-twin engine seen in the F 450 GS and F 450 R, featuring a distinct 135-degree offset crankpin setup.
  • Power Output: Generates 48 HP
  • Chassis & Suspension: Utilizes a tubular steel main frame paired with an aluminum swingarm. Up front, it features a KYB upside-down (USD) fork.
  • Braking System: Stopped by a single 310mm disc clamped by a 4-piston Brembo radial caliper at the front.
  • Weight & Ergonomics: Expected to weigh close to 175 kg (similar to the naked F 450 R), while featuring a sportier, more aggressive riding position with clip-ons and an underfloor exhaust layout.

Styling Inspired by the Upcoming S 1000 RR

The fairing design of the F 450 RR takes heavy design cues from the next-generation BMW S 1000 RR flagship, which is also completing its final road testing before launch. The prototype shows front-end elements reminiscent of the “Concept RR”, including sleek headlights, a prominent central Ram-Air intake, and visually integrated aerodynamic winglets.

Test mules of the bigger 1000cc flagship reveal a redesigned swingarm, a lighter rear subframe, and blue-painted Brembo Hypure brake calipers (referencing BMW’s M performance badging), alongside optional carbon fiber trim parts.

My thoughts

“The F 450 RR is a massive step forward for BMW’s entry-level strategy, especially considering how crucial the Indian manufacturing setup with TVS is for this entire platform. While the 310s never really grabbed on to hearts in India with this version and the demand for mid-capacity twin-cylinder sports bikes is booming thanks to models like the Aprilia RS 457, an accessible, highly capable 48 HP Bavarian supersport like the F 450 RR will hit the absolute sweet spot for young enthusiasts looking for premium performance without needing a full-blown 1000cc superbike. Hope they get the pricing right.”
