It’s the Austrian firm that has been in the headlines for a couple of days thanks to the newest and the most powerful addition in its Indian Orange family, the 790 Duke. The 790 Duke successfully charmed everyone with its style, electronics, and performance figures, however, people aren’t that pleased about its (introductory) price of Rs 8.63 lakh. Anyway, another news that came out of the launch event of the 790 Duke was that KTM could soon be updating the 200 Duke.

Sumeet Narang, President, Probiking, Bajaj, shed some light about their plan to update KTM’s first motorcycle with which it entered the Indian market back in 2012. Of course, there’s no solid timeline about it but things could become sweeter perhaps sometime early next year.

The 200 Duke flipped the motorcycle culture in India and gained a big fan following in a very short time. It did receive minor updates over the years of its existence but nothing major knocked its door ever. However, even today, the 200 Duke is quite in demand and is still selling in good numbers.

It’s good news that KTM finally turned its attention to the 200 Duke, however, commenting about the updates that it’s going to receive at this moment wouldn’t be right. We do suspect that KTM would use inspiration from its existing 250 Duke and 390 Duke and implement some changes in the 200 to make it much more attractive and sensible in the coming months.

At present, the 200 Duke retails at Rs 1.62 lakh and is still capable to give a tough fight to rivals which fall in a category above.

How much are you looking forward to the new updated KTM 200 Duke?
