It seems like KTM 250 Adventure got lost amidst 390 Adventure’s limelight. Neither it was present at the EICMA 2019 nor at the IBW 2019 where KTM officially unveiled the 390 Adventure in India. In fact, the last time we saw 250 Adventure was in October when KTM was still testing it on Indian roads in a disguised form. So where is it and when would it be launched in India?
Looking at the current situation, it is quite clear the 390 Adventure sits above the 250 Adventure in KTM’s priority list. We are expecting the former to be launched sometime in Feb 2020, which makes us believe that the latter should hit the showrooms perhaps by mid-2020, although there’s no official word on the same.
KTM 250 Adventure is very similar to the 390 Adventure when it comes to styling and design but lacks most of the premium features like LED headlight, traction control, ride-by-wire, etc. On the engine front, it has the same powerplant that powers up the 250 Duke – a 250cc, liquid-cooled, single that churns out 30 horses and 24 Nm.
While the 390 Adventure would be the go-to choice of a plethora of motorcyclists in India, we think the 250 Adventure would fit in the market just like the 250 Duke did.
