We have been hearing about the new KTM RC 125 since last month. Considering the impressive sales of the Duke 125, the launch of its faired sibling was inevitable. KTM finally did the honours today and announced an introductory price of Rs 1.47 lakh.

So the RC 125 is a whopping Rs 17,000 more expensive than the Duke 125. No surprises here. Being a faired motorcycle, it had to be costlier than its naked counterpart. But the catch here is that it is also expensive than the beloved Yamaha R15 V3 and even the Bajaj Pulsar RS 200.

KTM RC 125
It’s finally here

One of the reasons why the Duke 125 has been so successful is that it provides an upright riding stance which is what commuters seek. And, of course, you get all the bells and whistles of a KTM – USD forks, funky styling, fully digital dash, beefier tyres, etc. But what about the RC 125? Its riding position is as aggressive as the other big RCs that we have in the country. It won’t be the best commuter. So who would buy it? Perhaps, the pure KTM fans? Or for someone who wants to learn riding at the track but wants a more manageable machine. We will know soon enough.

If you want to join the Orange family, the most affordable option for you is the Duke 125. But if you want to join the Orange family with a bang, then the KTM RC 125 should be the right choice for you.

The RC 125 is available in two colours – orange+black and white+orange

Keep in mind that the Rs 1.47 lakh tag is the introductory price of the RC 125. We have no clue when would KTM change its mind. The Duke 125 has already received two price hikes. So make sure you decide quickly.
