It appears that CFMoto is developing a new motorcycle that would be based on the KTM 790 Adventure. A spy shot of the prototype has surfaced on the internet which reveals a handful of details. Also, it is being said that CFMoto would name this bike as the MT-800.

Unlike the KTM, the MT-800 features a more road-oriented design and specifications. For instance, it has a conventional fuel tank, alloy wheels, etc. Also, the saddle height of the bike seems to be lower. While this will certainly help short riders to manoeuvre the motorcycle easily, we found it to be disproportioned with the front end of the bike, which appears to be bulkier than the usual. Don’t you think so?

Some other features that we are expecting CFMoto MT-800 would get are-

  • Fully-digital dash
  • Bluetooth connectivity
  • LED lighting
  • ABS
  • Traction control
  • Riding modes
  • Slipper clutch

As for the engine, CFMoto would borrow the same 799cc, parallel-twin, LC8c engine that powers the 790 Adventure, in which it is tuned to produce around 94bhp and 88Nm. KTM also has an 890 Duke R available and CFMoto could be eyeing for the bigger engine for its MT-800.

At this point of time, we don’t have an exact launch date or price but it has been speculated that CFMoto would reveal its MT-800 to the world sometime during the mid of this year. Later on, CFMoto might bring it here in India where it launched four new products last year – 300NK, 650NK, 650MT, and 650GT.
