To mark the Australian Grand Prix, Italian motorcycle brand Aprilia has unveiled a special limited-edition version of the Aprilia RS 660 called the Phillip Island Tribute. Celebrating the manufacturer’s rich history of victories on the fast Australian circuit, the special edition bike features unique livery and dedicated equipment. Fans and enthusiasts can check out the Aprilia RS 660 Phillip Island Tribute in person at EICMA in Milan, where it will be on display at the Aprilia booth (Hall 9) from November 5 to 8.

Iconic Legacy & Phillip Island Connection

Aprilia’s racing legacy is deeply rooted in the fast and challenging Phillip Island track, where the brand has secured 10 victories across various MotoGP World Championship classes, alongside wins in the Superbike World Championship on the RSV4. In 2025, rider Raúl Fernández rode the RS-GP to victory at Phillip Island, pushing Aprilia to a historic milestone of 300 World Motorcycle Championship wins and making it the most successful European manufacturer in the championship’s history.

With Phillip Island dropping off the MotoGP calendar after almost thirty seasons starting from 2027, this special edition serves as a lasting tribute to that unbreakable bond.

Distinctive Styling, Livery & Collector Touches

The Phillip Island Tribute edition builds on the RS 660 platform with exclusive aesthetic details and standard equipment:

  • Circuit-Inspired Colour Scheme: A white base paired with green side and tail sections and red wheel rims, directly echoing the colors of the Phillip Island circuit logo.
  • Track Graphics: Side panels showcase the circuit’s track layout logo placed right above the words ‘Phillip Island Circuit’ and a chequered flag.
  • Numbered Collector Detail: The fuel tank features a badge displaying Aprilia’s total win count at the circuit, while each bike’s unique serial number is etched onto the steering head plate.
  • Standard Passenger Seat Cover: Included as standard equipment to complete the track-ready aesthetic.

My Thoughts

“Aprilia’s RS 660 is already considered one of the sharpest, most accessible middleweight supersport bikes in the world, and wrapping it in a dedicated Phillip Island tribute livery makes it an absolute dream for collector-minded enthusiasts. With Phillip Island exiting the MotoGP calendar after nearly three decades, paying homage to Raúl Fernández’s historic 300th win with a numbered steering plate and circuit-themed white, green, and red graphics adds genuine motorsport nostalgia. In India, the standard Aprilia RS 660 comes in as a CBU at price of approximately 18 lakh ex-showroom, making it too expensive for a 600 segment motorcycle.”
