Heavyweight Hardware Upgrades: A Major Step Up From the OnePlus 15
The overall setup looks like a noticeable jump over its predecessor. Where the OnePlus 15 settled for a triple 50 MP rear camera array with a small 1/1.56-inch primary sensor—which often struggled to keep shots sharp and noise free in low light—the OnePlus 16 is flexing a proper flagship sensor.
The main rear camera sports a massive 200 MP main sensor measuring 1/1.4 inches with a fast f/1.6 aperture. Assisting it is a 50 MP ultra-wide lens offering a wide 116 degree field of view, alongside a 50 MP periscope telephoto lens built on the Sony IMX-882 sensor, capable of 3x optical zoom and up to 6x Lossless Zoom.

Because OnePlus now powers its photographic pipeline via LUMO Imaging rather than Hasselblad, this custom mode effectively stands in for the Hasselblad XPan mode found on rival hardware like the Oppo Find X10 series (including the Find X10 Pro Max).

Under the hood, recent AnTuTu benchmark sightings confirm the phone is driven by Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset, offering plenty of silicon muscle to drive the computational photography features.
