The Vespa 125 LX has been launched in India by Piaggio. The iconic European scooter brand will cost Rs 66,661 ex-showroom Maharashtra which is at a premium over the other scooter brands in India. The Vespa LX125 has 100% localization in parts and assembly and Vespa plans to invest $20 million to double its scooter capacity in India to 300,000 vehicles by the end of 2013. The company has already spent $30 million on the plant, which has a current capacity of 150,000, in Maharashtra. The scooter will be available across 50 dealerships spread across 35 cities. The plan is to double the reach to 100 dealers across 70 cities within the next one year.

i have my 22 year old bajaj scooter and is still working fine.
70000 for old look , no telescopic suspension ,no disk brake and lack of reliabilty .
and what will disc brake model cost can’t imagine :),
by projecting vespa as a premium lifestyle scooter , they can not fool us indians .
and activa , access, swish,aviator are not that bad either…
