Revolt Motors has announced the launch of its new models, the RV1 and its premium variant, the RV1+. In a country where motorcycles make up 70% of all two-wheelers, and the commuter segment dominates with over 80 lakh sales annually, this launch marks a significant shift towards affordable electric alternatives.

Priced competitively at ₹84,990 for the RV1 and ₹99,990 for the RV1+, these models are designed to offer a budget-friendly yet high-performance option for daily commuters. With ownership costs up to three times lower than petrol motorcycles, these electric bikes are expected to appeal to a broad range of consumers. The launch also strengthens Revolt’s already successful electric lineup, which includes popular models like the RV400 and RV400 BRZ.

What sets the RV1 apart is its superior payload capacity of 250 kg, far above the 150 kg average in the commuter segment. It features broader tires for better grip, making it suitable for both city commutes and longer rides. Powered by a mid-motor and a premium chain drive system, the RV1 ensures smooth acceleration and a comfortable riding experience. Additionally, dual disc brakes provide enhanced safety, while multiple speed modes allow for a versatile riding experience. The bike also introduces a first-in-class reverse mode, perfect for maneuvering in tight parking spots.

The RV1 is equipped with a 6-inch digital LCD display, which provides real-time data on ride performance and potential error codes, enhancing the connected riding experience. Sleek LED headlights and taillights further add to the bike’s aesthetics and road presence. Riders can also enjoy convenient built-in charger storage, with the RV1+ capable of fast charging in just 1.5 hours.

In terms of battery options, the RV1 offers a 2.2 kWh unit with a range of up to 100 km, while a larger 3.24 kWh battery extends the range to 160 km—ideal for longer commutes. Both batteries are IP67-rated for water resistance, ensuring durability even in harsh weather conditions.

Comfort is another key feature, with the RV1 boasting the longest seat in its category and a frame designed for multiple passengers. Its advanced suspension system ensures a smooth ride, even on rough terrain, making the RV1 ideal for families and daily commuters alike.

In addition to the RV1 launch, Revolt Motors has upgraded its flagship model, the RV400. This upgraded version now features a fast charger that fully charges the bike in just 90 minutes, enhanced safety with a leg guard and center stand, and Bluetooth connectivity for an improved riding experience. The RV400’s range has also been extended to 160 km, and it is now available in a new Lunar Green color.
