Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) just marked a huge milestone, celebrating a quarter-century of operations in India. To commemorate this special occasion, Honda pulled the wraps off two brand new motorcycles: the Honda CB125 Hornet and Honda Shine 100 DX, both packed with features that cater precisely to Indian riders looking for style, tech, and performance. Bookings for these much-awaited bikes open on August 1, 2025, kicking off what Honda calls the new “Generation Honda” era in the country.
CB125 Hornet: Urban Thrill for Gen-Z
Targeted at young, urban riders, the Honda CB125 Hornet is designed to turn heads on city streets and back roads alike. The bike comes with an aggressive streetfighter look, highlighted by a bold front, an all-LED lighting setup (including a signature twin-LED headlamp plus high-mounted indicators), and a muscular tank with sharp shrouds. The golden USD front forks—a first in the segment—bring both style and serious handling capability, while the 5-step adjustable mono-shock keeps things smooth no matter the road.
Honda has even placed the ignition key right on the fuel tank for a dash of sport-bike cool, along with split seats and striking multi-spoke alloy wheels. For tech lovers, the Hornet packs a 4.2-inch TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity and Honda RoadSync app support, so riders can easily access navigation, calls, SMS alerts, and music without distraction. There’s even a USB Type-C charging port and a handy side-stand engine cut-off for extra peace of mind.
Performance-wise, the Hornet is a true stand-out in the 125cc premium commuter segment. It runs on a powerful 123.94cc, single-cylinder, fuel-injected engine (OBD2B compliant), making 11.14 PS at 7,500 RPM and 11.2 Nm at 6,000 RPM. The lightweight 124 kg kerb weight and a slick 5-speed gearbox mean it can spring from 0–60 km/h in just 5.4 seconds—fastest in its class.
Braking is sorted with a 240mm petal disc upfront, a rear drum, wide tubeless tyres, and single-channel ABS for extra safety. It’s everything a city commuter or college-goer could want: snappy, cool, and connected.
