Ather Energy is levelling up the riding game by rolling out Infinite Cruise to the Ather 450X lineup — and it’s coming as a free OTA (over-the-air) update for existing owners. First introduced on the Ather 450 Apex in August 2025 at the Ather Community Day, this smart feature is now standard on all 450X models and will notify riders directly on their dashboard.
What Makes Infinite Cruise Special?
Unlike old-school cruise control built for highways, Infinite Cruise is designed for Indian city chaos — think speeds under 30 kmph, stop-go traffic, potholes, and constant speed tweaks. It stays active even after braking or accelerating, automatically recalibrating to your new speed without needing to turn it on again. This cuts throttle fiddling and rider fatigue in daily commutes.
The system works between 10 kmph and 90 kmph, blending three clever modes:
- CityCruise: Handles traffic speed changes smoothly.
- Hill Control: Keeps steady speed on slopes using Ather’s Magic Braking Algorithm and regen braking.
- Crawl Control: Stable low-speed cruising on rough roads, powered by Multimode Traction Control for better grip on wet/slippery surfaces.
Paired with Multi Mode Traction Control and Magic Twist™, it makes urban rides safer, smoother, and more fun.
OTA Rollout for Existing Owners
Ather’s pushing its ownership-first vibe by updating over 44,000 Ather 450X scooters bought from January 1, 2025 onwards via OTA. This backward compatibility comes from smart hardware planning during the 2025 450 series development, proving Ather treats scooters as evolving products with software upgrades extending their life.
