In a bold new move to provide prospective customers with an easy way to buy a Suzuki two wheeler product, Suzuki Motorcycles India has tied up with Snapdeal – an online marketplace. Through the specially designed new platform within the website called the Snapdeal Motors section, prospective buyers can go through the entire Suzuki Motorcycle range on offer along with their colour options and pay the booking amount online to finalise their buy. The buyers also have the option of choosing the closest or the most convenient dealership for them, through whom the remaining process of the purchase will happen. As an added bonus, in an initial launch offer, the first few customers will get free insurance of one year along with their purchase. The website will also offer hassle free loan options to further ease the whole buying process.
Speaking on the occasion Mr. Masayoshi Ito, Managing Director of Suzuki Motorcycles India said “A tie up with an online giant like Snapdeal was a logical choice for Suzuki as internet and e-commerce is starting to become a popular channel in India. We are sure that this collaboration will be profitable for Snapdeal, Suzuki and our customers.”
It definitely is interesting to see the online sales and booking of two wheelers generating lot of interest in the past couple of months. It was Mahindra that first started in this direction with their Gusto, but Suzuki has taken it a step further with the entire Suzuki line up available for purchase online. Honestly we are surprised as well, the usual trend is to head on to a dealership, take a test ride, see the vehicle in flesh along with its different colour options and then make a decision. The surge in online facilities sure seems to have changed the mind-set. Surely even the busy lifestyles would contribute to this change.
Suzuki has been a resurgent company in the past year. They were recovering slowly and steadily with their Access 125 scooter, but it was when the Suzuki Gixxer came in that the company was back on the radar. The Gixxer and the Gixxer SF that came in later has really catapulted the company right to the top and fighting with the best. The online sales strategy of Suzuki will only make it simpler for buyers to get hold of their favourite two wheeler from the company. For sure we will see other manufacturers following suit soon.
