Maruti Suzuki has officially published the complete variant-wise price list for the 2026 Baleno facelift, with showroom tags starting from Rs 5.99 lakh and stretching up to Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom). While the brand originally introduced the updated premium hatchback on 5 September with an announced base price of Rs 6.10 lakh, the company’s official website now lists the revised entry point at Rs 5.99 lakh across the complete line-up, spanning the Sigma, Delta, Zeta, Alpha, and Alpha (O) trims.

New Z12E Powertrain and Fuel Efficiency Gains
Under the bonnet, the 2026 Baleno undergoes a significant mechanical update. Maruti Suzuki has retired the older K12N 1.2-litre four-cylinder petrol unit in favour of the new Z12E 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine—the same motor powering the latest Swift and Dzire.
Offered with either a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 5-speed AMT, the new engine puts out 83 hp and 112 Nm of torque. While that represents a drop of 7 hp and 1 Nm compared to the previous four-cylinder unit, the trade-off comes in the form of improved fuel economy:
- Petrol MT: 23.80 kmpl (an increase of 1.45 kmpl)
- Petrol AMT: 24.77 kmpl (an increase of 1.83 kmpl)
For CNG buyers, the 1.2-litre Z12E engine produces 70 hp and 102 Nm of torque, matched exclusively to a 5-speed manual transmission. Claimed efficiency for the CNG model stands at 33.61 km/kg, marking a 3 km/kg improvement over the outgoing model’s figures.
Segment Competition
The updated 2026 Baleno continues to compete in India’s premium hatchback space, going up against:
- Tata Altroz: Rs 6.00 lakh to Rs 10.75 lakh
- Hyundai i20: Rs 6.00 lakh to Rs 10.39 lakh (with the i20 N Line sitting between Rs 9.27 lakh and Rs 11.59 lakh)
- Toyota Glanza: Rs 6.73 lakh to Rs 9.99 lakh
(All prices quoted are ex-showroom, India.)
