Toyota Hilux Design: Built Under The “Tough & Agile” Concept

The all-new Hilux has been designed under Toyota’s “Tough & Agile” philosophy, blending rugged strength with dynamic agility in a bold new form. Its front-end styling draws inspiration from the “Cyber Sumo” concept, taking cues from the iconic pre-combat sumo stance to reflect the Hilux’s core qualities of being stable, strong and steady. The look is built around a wide grille, sculpted bonnet and muscular proportions that boost both stability and road presence.

Elsewhere, a newly designed front bumper with piano black accents, LED headlamps with a welcome function, LED fog lamps and distinctive daytime running lights all add to the contemporary, premium feel. Alloy wheels, aerodynamic stabilising fins, electrically adjustable and retractable ORVMs, LED rear combination lamps and a shark-fin antenna round off the visual package while adding a bit of extra stability and modern functionality.

Toyota Hilux Engine And Performance

Under the bonnet sits a proven 2.8-litre BS6 Phase 2 diesel engine, putting out 150 kW (204 PS) of power and 500 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission. With an 80-litre fuel tank on board, the Hilux is built with long-distance endurance in mind, offering refined acceleration and solid drivability whether you’re on the highway, in the city, or tackling tougher terrain.

Toyota Hilux Off-Road And 4X4 Capability

The Hilux’s legendary 4X4 capability has been engineered to take on serious adventure with confidence. It comes equipped with Toyota’s advanced four-wheel-drive system, featuring both High (H4) and Low (L4) range, while an Electronic Differential Lock and Downhill Assist Control (DAC) add further off-road capability. The suspension set-up — double wishbone up front, leaf spring at the rear — has been comfort-tuned alongside optimised braking for strong road grip and a smooth, controlled ride. Combined with impressive approach and departure angles and Toyota’s well-regarded chassis engineering, the Hilux is built to deliver stability and control across some genuinely challenging landscapes.

Toyota Hilux Interior And Comfort

Inside, the Hilux offers a spacious, refined cabin finished with soft-touch upholstery and metallic accents, along with thoughtfully integrated storage and an ergonomic cockpit layout. Everyday usability gets a boost from tilt-and-telescopic steering, 60:40 split rear seats, and power windows with jam protection. Convenience features include Smart Entry with Push Start/Stop, park assist, power steering, wireless charging, cruise control, a rear armrest, PM2.5 air filtration, and multiple drive modes — Eco, Normal and Sport — for a bit of extra personalisation depending on how you’re driving.

Toyota Hilux Connectivity And Infotainment

The all-new Hilux comes loaded with tech to keep occupants connected throughout the journey. There’s a large 12.3-inch infotainment display with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a new optitron metal-tone combimeter with illumination control, and Toyota’s i-Connect features for a more engaging, connected driving experience. Multi-information TFT displays, steering-mounted audio controls and voice recognition all add to the ease of use, while an eight-speaker audio system rounds things off nicely for entertainment on the move.

Toyota Hilux Safety Features

Safety is well covered on the new Hilux, with seven SRS airbags, Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), ABS with Brake Assist (BA), Emergency Brake Signal, ISOFIX child restraint anchorages, and front seatbelts with force limiters all fitted as standard. The Hilux also benefits from an impact-absorbing Global Outstanding Assessment (GOA) body structure and speed-sensing door locks, alongside a panoramic view monitor, front and rear parking sensors, and TPMS (Tyre Pressure Monitoring System) to keep drivers aware and confident in varied conditions.

Toyota Hilux Ownership Experience

Toyota is backing the new Hilux with its Assured Service ecosystem, aiming to give customers a seamless ownership experience built on reliability and peace of mind throughout the vehicle’s life.

Toyota Hilux Colour Options And Accessories

The all-new Hilux is available in six exterior colours: Super White, Platinum Pearl White, Attitude Black+, Emotional Red, and the newly introduced Sulphur Metallic+ and Ash. For those wanting to personalise their Hilux further, Toyota is also offering a range of genuine accessories, including headlamp garnish, door garnish kits, side visors and side protective mouldings, among others.

What Toyota Had To Say

Speaking on the launch, Mr Masakazu Yoshimura, Chairman, Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer of Toyota Kirloskar Motor, said that customer centricity at TKM means understanding what customers need today while preparing for what they’ll aspire to tomorrow. He added that with nearly three decades in India, the company continues to grow by listening to customers, investing for the future, and delivering mobility solutions built on trust, quality and reliability, noting that the all-new Hilux strengthens that direction by bringing Toyota’s proven durability and dependability to customers who want a vehicle that’s both powerful and trusted.

Mr Tadashi Asazuma, Deputy Managing Director, Toyota Kirloskar Motor, described the all-new Hilux as tougher, smarter and more expressive, reflecting the brand’s commitment to evolving alongside customer aspirations. He pointed to India’s shifting mobility preferences, with customers increasingly looking for vehicles that support diverse lifestyles and professional needs, and said Toyota sees the Hilux as an opportunity to deliver exactly that kind of freedom, confidence and peace of mind.

Mr Sabari Manohar, Executive Vice President – Sales-Service-Used Car Business, Toyota Kirloskar Motor, added that the exterior and interior design under the “Tough & Agile” concept combines strength with agility, and that between the 2.8-litre engine, the hallmark 4WD capability, advanced connected technology like the 12.3-inch infotainment system with i-Connect, and comprehensive safety features including seven airbags and driver assist systems, the team is confident the all-new Hilux will continue to uphold its promise of serving generations of customers.
