Keeway India has officially broken into the high-performance EV segment with the launch of its most advanced electric scooter yet: the all-new Keeway Hypevolt-R.
Price, Bookings, and What You Pay
Keeway is hitting the ground running with an introductory ex-showroom price of ₹1,99,000. If you fancy putting one in your garage, online bookings are officially open for a deposit of ₹5,000 via Keeway India’s official website.
The scooter is available in two premium colour options: Crystal White and Platinum Grey. Deliveries through Keeway’s nationwide network of over 40 authorised dealerships are expected to kick off shortly.
Mind-Blowing Performance and Battery Tech
The Hypevolt-R is engineered to feel completely different from your average, run-of-the-mill electric scooter. Thanks to its mid-mounted Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor, the scooter pumps out a rated power of 6 kW and an absolute peak power of 12 kW, alongside a punchy 72 Nm of peak torque.
Here is what that translates to on the tarmac:
- Eye-Watering Acceleration: It rockets from 0 to 40 km/h in a mere 2.3 seconds when flipped into SPORT mode.
- Top Speed & Climbing: It maxes out at a top speed of 115 km/h and can conquer steep hills with an impressive 30-degree gradability.
- The Battery Setup: At its core is a 72V 35AH dual battery architecture (totaling 5.04 kWh) using NMC cells. The parallel, removable battery packs can be charged either on or off the scooter.
- Range & Fast Charging: It delivers an IDC-certified riding range of 180 km on a single charge. When plugged in for a rapid charge (using the 20A, 1680W option over the standard 10A, 840W slow charger), it zips from 0 to 80% in approximately 3 hours.
Riders can easily tweak the power delivery on the go by switching between three distinct riding modes: ECO, NORMAL, and SPORT.
Loaded with Safety Tech and ADAS Features
Keeway did not compromise on safety, packing the Hypevolt-R with a massive array of intelligent rider assistance systems that you would normally expect on a premium motorcycle.
The tech suite includes a Rear Reverse Camera, Blind Spot Detection, a Traction Control System (TCS), and Dual-Channel ABS. For tricky inclines, it brings Hill Hold Control and Hill Descent Control to the table, alongside Intelligent Cruise Control and a handy reverse mode.
Frame, Chassis, and Everyday Comfort
Beneath the bodywork, the scooter utilizes a high-carbon steel cage frame body. The ride dynamics are sorted by a φ33 tube upright telescopic front fork and a 5-step adjustable hydraulic rear shock absorber, creating a brilliant sweet spot between sharp handling and everyday comfort.
- Tyres & Wheels: It rolls on 14-inch alloy wheels wrapped in a 100/80 front and 120/70 rear semi-slick tubeless tyre setup for superb cornering grip.
- Dimensions: It features a 1,454 mm wheelbase, an overall length of 2,044 mm, a width of 798 mm, and a height of 1,130 mm. The kerb weight sits at 140 kg, and it clears speed bumps comfortably with 130 mm of ground clearance.
On the electronics and convenience side, the scooter features a fully digital 5-inch TFT display powered by an AMT630V100 processor with 256MB of storage running on a Linux operating system, boasting an IP66 ingress protection rating. It comes with Bluetooth connectivity for Bluetooth OTA upgrades, a distinctive water-flowing LED light strip, and dedicated projector LED headlamps with high and low beams.
Despite its sporty edge, it remains incredibly practical with a generous 27-litre under-seat storage compartment, an accessible 770 mm seat height, and integrated USB Type-A and Type-C charging ports. Live Location and Geo-fencing are also available as optional add-ons.
