Kolkata Police have taken a massive leap towards futuristic patrol capabilities, officially inducting 183 units of the new Ultraviolette X-47 ‘Skyforce’ into their active duty fleet. Handed over during an official ceremony at the Lalbazar Police Headquarters in New Delhi on 19 September 2026, this move marks one of the largest electric motorcycle deployments by any Indian police force to date.
The deal also secures Ultraviolette’s position as the first electric two-wheeler manufacturer by scale to have its bikes joining the Kolkata Police lineup.
Built for Tactical Duty: The X-47 ‘Skyforce’ Variant
Developed specifically to meet the rigorous demands of the Indian Police Department, the X-47 ‘Skyforce’ is a tactical crossover motorcycle built with multi-terrain capabilities. Rather than being a mere ceremonial addition, these machines have undergone extensive testing to ensure they can handle high-intensity, everyday urban policing.
To support real-world law enforcement operations, Ultraviolette boosted the bike’s electronic architecture to seamlessly power a complete suite of integrated police equipment. Each unit comes fully fitted with:
