Here is an early peek at what Mahindra has coming down the pipeline, as spy shots of the upcoming Mahindra Scorpio N facelift have leaked in full. The freshly surfaced images provide a proper look at the updated SUV ahead of its expected launch, which could happen as soon as next month.
Most importantly, while the exterior gets a light polish with minor visual differentiators, the interior receives a far more substantial revamp packed with fresh features.
Subtle Tweaks to the Exterior Styling
Outside, Mahindra has kept the changes relatively understated:
- Fresh Alloy Wheels: The most noticeable exterior update is a set of redesigned alloy wheels, giving the SUV a more contemporary look than the current model.
- Front Profile: Whilst initial spied details suggest the headlights are slightly different, overall front-end elements remain identical to the outgoing version. The grille, headlights, front bumper, and fog lamps featuring the signature scorpion-tail design carry over unchanged.
- Rear Design: The rear is completely identical to the current Scorpio N, retaining the same LED tail-lights and rear bumper setup.
- Carried-Over Accents: Familiar design touches remain in place, including the silver roof rails, chrome door handle strips, black body cladding along the wheel arches and lower sections, and the chrome window-line beading featuring its scorpion-tail tip.
A Revamped Cabin Inspired by the Thar Roxx
Step inside, and the cabin overhaul becomes immediately apparent:
- Dual 10.25-Inch Display Setup: The interior borrows heavily from the Thar Roxx, featuring a new free-standing infotainment system alongside a fully digital driver’s display (both screens measure 10.25 inches on the Thar Roxx).
- Repositioned Vents & Console: To accommodate the new screen layout, the centre AC vents have been moved directly beneath the infotainment unit. Additionally, the switchgear on the centre console gets a fresh design.
- Dual-Tone Theme: Mahindra continues with the familiar brown-and-black dual-tone cabin theme seen on the outgoing model.
- Feature Highlights: The facelifted model could introduce a new panoramic sunroof. It is also expected to retain popular equipment such as a 12-speaker Sony sound system, dual-zone climate control, ventilated front seats, a powered driver’s seat, and a wireless phone charger.
Engine Options and Market Competitors
Under the bonnet, Mahindra is expected to stick with a winning formula. The facelifted Scorpio N will likely retain its direct-injection turbo-petrol and diesel engine options.
Expected Pricing & Rivals
- Price Expectations: The facelift could bring a slight price bump over the current model, which is priced between Rs 13.49 lakh and Rs 24.95 lakh (ex-showroom).
- Key Rivals: Upon release, the updated SUV will continue to go head-to-head with rivals like the Hyundai Alcazar, Tata Safari, MG Hector, and Mahindra’s own XUV 7XO.
