Four years after introducing the second-generation model, Maruti Suzuki has officially launched the 2026 Maruti Brezza facelift in India with a starting price tag of Rs 7.40 lakh (ex-showroom) for the new direct-injection turbo-petrol version.
Marking the compact SUV’s first comprehensive update in four years, the revised iteration brings a brand-new engine option, a fresh gearbox, enhanced interior features, minor styling tweaks, and improved fuel efficiency figures across the board. The updated model takes on established rivals in the sub-four-metre segment including the Hyundai Venue, Skoda Kylaq, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV 3XO, Kia Sonet, and Syros.
Under the Bonnet: New Boosterjet Turbo-Petrol & Underbody CNG
The most notable changes for the 2026 Maruti Brezza sit under its bonnet. The compact SUV introduces a new 1.0-litre ‘Boosterjet’ direct-injection turbo-petrol engine delivering 110 hp (108 bhp) and 170 Nm of torque.
Alongside the new turbo unit, Maruti retains the familiar 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 103 hp (103 PS) and 139 Nm of torque, which can also be paired with a factory-fitted CNG kit (delivering 88 PS and 121.5 Nm in CNG mode).
Key Mechanical Updates:
- New 6-Speed Manual Gearbox: The previous 5-speed manual has been replaced across standard powertrains with a new 6-speed manual unit.
- Automatic Transmission: A 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission remains available exclusively with the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine.
- Underbody-Mounted CNG Kit: Similar to its sibling, the Victoris, the 2026 Brezza CNG shifts its gas tank underneath the floorboards to save valuable boot space.
- Puncture Kit Standard: To accommodate the underbody CNG arrangement, the traditional spare tyre has been removed across all variants in favour of a standard puncture repair kit.

Outside, Maruti has opted for evolutionary styling tweaks to keep the Brezza’s silhouette intact while giving it a fresher road presence:
- Front Fascia: Features a revised front grille with dark chrome trim connecting the headlights, a slightly redesigned bumper with dark chrome details, and a reworked faux skid plate.
- Lighting: Keeps the LED headlamps with L-shaped DRLs, whilst the front fog lamps sit slightly higher in new triangular housings.
- Side Profile: Gains new dual-tone door cladding and fresh 16-inch alloy wheels.
- Rear Profile: Carries over the existing tail-lamp layout and bumper setup.

Inside the cabin, the black-and-brown theme remains, but silver trim bits have been swapped for high-gloss black surfaces, complemented by new brown leatherette seat upholstery, revised climate controls, sliding front centre armrest, cooled glovebox, and rear-seat winged headrests.
