Simple Energy has stepped directly into India’s family scooter segment with the launch of the Simple Wave. The new Simple Wave electric scooter line up arrives across three variants and six distinct models, delivering practicality, high-tech connectivity, and an IDC riding range of up to 243 km.
The entire lineup starts at an introductory price of INR 1,09,999 (ex-showroom).
Segment-Topping Storage and Family Ergonomics
Practicality sits front and centre on the Simple Wave. The e-scooter introduces up to 70 litres of total storage capacity across three clever compartments:
- The Pill: An industry-first 4-litre auxiliary storage pod.
- Under-Seat Storage: A cavernous main compartment offering up to 63 litres.
- Glove Box: A handy 3-litre front pocket for quick-grab items.
To keep everyday commuting comfortable for riders of all statures, the scooter features a 775 mm seat height, a 1,347 mm wheelbase, a 150 kg payload rating, and 175 mm of ground clearance. Dealing with monsoon puddles is equally straightforward courtesy of a 300 mm water-wading depth and robust IP67 ratings for both the battery and motor.
Variants, Battery Specs, and Performance
The Simple Wave family scooter is organised into three core variant banners—Simple Wave S, Simple Wave, and the flagship Simple Wave +—spanning six total models tailored to varied budget and range preferences.
Powering the top-spec Simple Wave + is a 5 kWh battery paired with a 6.4 kW PMSM motor producing 179 Nm of wheel torque. It tops out at 90 km/h while achieving an IDC range of 243 km. Power transfer across the range relies on a durable chain-drive transmission.
Riders can switch through dedicated modes including Ride, Eco, and ECOX, with higher trims gaining a Sport mode for extra pace.

Hardware, Charging, and Connected Tech
The chassis balances durability and handling using a tubular steel frame suspended by a front telescopic fork and progressive twin rear shock absorbers riding on 12-inch alloy wheels. Stopping power comes from a front disc and rear drum braking system linked by a Combined Braking System (CBS).
For replenishing juice, the scooter supports both regular and rapid charging. Using fast-charging capabilities, the flagship 5 kWh model can recharge from 0 to 80 per cent in just 2 hours and 15 minutes. Overnight domestic top-ups are handled by an included 750W portable home charger.
Lighting is fully LED, covering the headlamp, daytime running lights (DRLs), indicators, and tail unit. Depending on the chosen trim, cockpit instrumentation comes as either a clear 5-inch EBN setup or an interactive 7-inch TFT touchscreen. TFT-equipped editions add:
- Turn-by-turn navigation and GPS tracking
- Bluetooth mobile pairing, music toggles, and call controls
- USB charging ports and Over-the-Air (OTA) system updates
- Rider aids including regenerative braking, traction control, hill hold assist, reverse mode, crawl mode, and anti-theft tracking

Order books for the Simple Wave EV range are officially open via the brand’s direct web portal (https://www.simpleenergy.in/) and offline touchpoints, with customer deliveries scheduled to begin in the final week of September 2026.
Simple Energy currently maintains an assembly run-rate of 3,000 units per month out of its factory, retailing roughly 1,500 scooters monthly across 75 showrooms in 63 cities—spanning hubs like Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Patna, Nagpur, Bhopal, Agra, Goa, Vijayawada, Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam, and Kochi.
With investments channelling into its battery production facilities, the outfit expects manufacturing capacity utilisation to climb from its current 35 per cent up to 75–80 per cent by the close of the next financial year. By March 2027, the startup targets a sales target of 10,000 monthly units.
Financial backing remains substantial, with INR 736 crore raised so far from high-net-worth individuals and family offices—notably Dr. Arokiaswamy Velumani’s Family Office, Balamurugan Arumugam, the Haran Family Office, the Desai Family Office (promoters of Apar Industries), and the Vasavi Family Office. This war chest includes a recent INR 250 crore funding tranche earmarked to fuel network reach, ongoing R&D, and plant growth.
