Tata Motors has officially released a teaser video confirming that the heavily updated Tata Tigor facelift will make its global debut on 25 September 2026 under a brand-new nameplate: the Tata Aeris. The upcoming compact sedan represents a major overhaul for the model, bringing fresh styling, updated sheet metal, and modern tech to Tata’s popular four-door line-up.
Fresh Styling and Exterior Updates
The official teaser reveals that the Aeris sports a noticeably sleeker front fascia compared to the outgoing Tigor. Up front, the new compact sedan gets slim LED headlights topped with a thin Daytime Running Light (DRL) strip, alongside LED fog lamps—a feature not available on the current Tigor.
Further design highlights revealed in the teaser clip and earlier design patent filings include:
- A vibrant new purple exterior paint option
- Redesigned rear tail-lights and traditional pull-type door handles
- A refreshed rear bumper featuring side reflectors
- A signature notchback-style tapering roofline reminiscent of the current Tigor
- Freshly styled 15-inch wheels, matching the sizing of the outgoing car
Unlike typical minor cosmetic updates, the Tata Aeris features actual sheet metal revisions across its bodywork. The all-electric variant, expected to be badged as the Aeris EV, will adopt a similar overall look, albeit with distinct EV-specific styling tweaks.
Interior Layout and Key Features
While full cabin images are yet to be officially revealed, the interior design of the Aeris is expected to borrow heavily from the updated Tiago hatch that arrived earlier in 2026. Drivers can anticipate a revised dashboard layout paired with a modern freestanding touchscreen infotainment unit.
