Almost negating the 350cc GST pricing benefit which we recently got, Triumph Motorcycles has announced series of price revisions across its highly popular sub-500cc motorcycle lineup. The strategy behind downsizing these engines to a 349cc capacity was originally intended to slip the bikes into the lower 18% GST tax bracket, down from the previous hefty 40% rate levied on bikes over 350cc. However, rising manufacturing and raw material costs seem to have caught up, chipping away at those initial savings.

1. Triumph Speed 400 Price Increased Again

The single-cylinder roadster has just received its second price hike since its initial 350cc avatar hit the market back in April 2026. Following a modest Rs 2,000 increase in late May, Triumph India has added another Rs 6,000 to the asking price.

  • New Price: Rs 2.40 lakh (ex-showroom)
  • The Irony: This latest bump actually makes the downsized 350cc variant slightly more expensive than the original 400cc model it replaced.
  • Specs Check: The liquid-cooled, 349cc single-cylinder motor pushes out 36.4bhp at 8,000rpm and 32Nm of torque at 7,000rpm (which is a drop of 3bhp and 5.5Nm compared to the old 400cc version). It tips the scales at 179kg (kerb weight), features a 13-litre fuel tank, and rides on 17-inch alloy wheels stopped by a 300mm front disc and 230mm rear disc brake with dual-channel ABS.

2. Triumph Thruxton 400 Price Increased by Rs 5,000

If anyone was eyeing up the café racer styling of the Thruxton 400, they will need to shell out an extra Rs 5,000. Much like its roadster sibling, this marks its second price revision, totaling a Rs 10,000 jump since the engine downsizing occurred.

  • New Price: Rs 2.75 lakh (ex-showroom).
  • The Impact: This move completely negates the original 18% GST benefit from the engine downsize, returning the Thruxton 400 exactly to its launch price from back when it carried the larger 400cc motor.
  • Specs Check: On the bright side, it remains mechanically unchanged. It is powered by a 349cc liquid-cooled engine producing 39.4bhp and 32Nm of torque. It has a sporty geometry with a short 1,376mm wheelbase, a modest 158mm ground clearance, an accessible 795mm saddle height, and a kerb weight of 183kg. Suspension tasks are handled by a USD front fork and a rear monoshock, with a 300mm front disc and a 230mm rear disc taking care of braking.

3. Triumph Tracker 400 Price Hiked in India

Launched just a few months ago in April at an introductory price of Rs 2.46 lakh, the flat-tracker-inspired urban motorcycle hasn’t escaped the red pen either. Triumph has tacked on a marginal 1.22% increase to its retail price.

  • New Price: Rs 2.49 lakh (ex-showroom).
  • The Verdict: A small Rs 3,000 bump means it still represents excellent value for money in the sub-500cc segment and shouldn’t deter serious prospective buyers.
  • Specs Check: The Tracker 400 shares the same 349cc platform, pumping out 39.5bhp and 32Nm of peak torque through a six-speed gearbox. It shares its suspension setup and wheel travel with the Thruxton 400 but opts for dual-purpose tyres and a slightly less committed, yet still sporty, riding posture thanks to lower handlebars and rear-set footpegs.

4. 2027 Triumph Scrambler 400 X Sports a New Khaki Look

It isn’t all bad news and bigger bills. While previous updates left the Scrambler 400 X pricing stable for a time, Triumph is rolling out a brand-new visual identity for the upcoming 2027 model year.

  • The Fresh Paint: The rugged adventurer is getting a striking new “Matt Khaki” look.
  • The Detailing: The design features a Matt Khaki Green stripe sitting prominently across a Matt Pewter Grey fuel tank.
  • Extra Kit: For riders looking to complete the rugged aesthetic, colour-coded high mudguards will also be up for grabs as an official accessory.
