The 2025 KTM 990 DUKE R sets an aggressive new standard in the middleweight naked bike segment, evolving from the KTM 990 DUKE platform with a bolder design and race-oriented focus. Dubbed “THE PUNISHER,” this model takes the lead in its class, boasting a sportier stance and power that solidifies KTM’s dominance on both road and track.
Following KTM’s 30 YEARS OF DUKE celebration in 2024, the latest 990 DUKE R arrives with enhanced power and a heightened competitive edge. With its white and matte black trim, Electronic Orange powder-coated frame, and heritage-inspired graphics reminiscent of the previous KTM 990 SUPER DUKE R, the “R” on its tank unmistakably signals its elite design and purpose.
The 990 DUKE R features cutting-edge technology, including an 8.88-inch TFT touchscreen dashboard with inductive technology, split screen mode, and optimized readability for a streamlined display. A new switch layout, connectivity options, navigation, customizable ride modes, and SPORT ABS with SUPERMOTO+ ABS provide riders with unparalleled control and performance.

The updated 947cc engine on the R version now produces 130 PS, up from 123 PS, while maintaining 103 Nm of torque and a 10,500 RPM limit. This elevated power output is achieved through refined mapping, showcasing the LC8c motor’s fierce capabilities. With an overall weight of 190 kg, the 990 DUKE R remains READY TO RACE, complemented by ergonomic updates that elevate the center of gravity, increase seat height, and improve ground clearance by 15 mm due to longer suspension travel.
KTM’s fully adjustable WP APEX suspension components provide a stiffer, sportier feel. The new Open Cartridge fork, with 143 mm travel and a 48 mm diameter, adds stability and control, while the upgraded WP APEX rear shock incorporates linkage system enhancements for improved performance and a more refined ride on both street and track.

High-performance braking, featuring Brembo Stylema monoblock calipers and Brembo MCS master cylinder with 320 mm discs, enhances control and precision under braking. Michelin Power Cup 2 tires, paired with orange-accented rims inspired by the KTM 1390 SUPER DUKE R, further equip the 990 DUKE R for track-ready performance.
