Ather Energy has just announced a new version of the 450S, this time packing a bigger 3.7kWh battery and an impressive 161 km IDC range. Priced at ₹1,45,999 (ex-showroom Bengaluru), this version hits that sweet spot between affordability and solid performance, making long-range e-scootering more accessible than ever.

So, what’s different? The newest 450S 3.7kWh is aimed at those who dig the performance vibes and sporty feel of the 450 series but want more range without shelling out for the fancier 450X. Basically, it bridges the gap between the previous entry-level 450S (which had a smaller battery) and the top-shelf 450X. An IDC of 161 kms means in real world conditions you will get close to 110-130 kms real range depending on riding style.

Design-wise, the new variant sticks to what Ather does best—sharp looks, mean LED headlamps, and that unmistakable premium build. Even with the larger battery, the scooter maintains Ather’s trademark solid engineering standards and athletic stance.

In terms of performance, there’s no compromise either. The 450S 3.7kWh runs a 5.4 kW motor dishing out 22 Nm of torque, blasts from 0-40 km/h in 3.9 seconds, and can hit a top speed of 90 km/h. That means you still get all the zip, but now with a lot more range for those city commutes or even longer rides. There are four ride modes on tap—Smart Eco, Eco, Ride, and Sport—so riders can prioritize max range or maximum fun whenever they feel like it.

Ather’s got a 7-inch DeepView Display with Bluetooth, navigation, auto-brightness, and a laundry list of smart safety features like AutoHold, Fall Safe, an emergency stop signal, and even Alexa Skills. OTA software updates? Check. Fast-charging on the Ather Grid? Of course—plus you get 0-80% at-home charging in just 4 hours 30 minutes.

On the ownership side, Ather is offering its “Ather Eight70” warranty—8 years or 80,000 km (whichever comes first) with a promise of at least 70% battery health for peace of mind. Throw in nationwide experience centers and a service network, and Ather’s really looking after its riders.

Bookings are now open throughout India—the scooter starts rolling out to buyers from August 2025. Prices vary a bit by city, but Ather’s clearly going for that “great performance, better range, and still solid value” sweet spot.
