India Kawasaki Motors Pvt. Ltd. (IKM) have officially introduced the MY26 Kawasaki Ninja 500 in the brand’s legendary signature Lime Green colour. With an ex-showroom price starting from INR 5,76,000/-, this fresh launch encourages riders to “MAKE YOUR STATEMENT” on the road.

Following a highly successful initial debut of the Ninja 500 in India, this MY26 model brings the globally recognised, unmistakable Ninja spirit straight to Indian tarmac. The eye-catching Lime Green shade heavily accentuates the bike’s sharp, SuperSport-inspired styling while drawing a direct line to Kawasaki’s celebrated racing heritage. Deliveries for this stunning machine are scheduled to commence from the start of mid-June 2026, and official bookings are already open across all authorised Kawasaki dealerships in India.

Performance and Engine Dynamics

At the heart of the MY26 Ninja 500 sits a deeply engaging and responsive 451cc liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, Parallel Twin, DOHC engine. The power unit has been specifically engineered to deliver robust low and mid-range torque alongside incredibly smooth acceleration.

The exact engine specifications include:

  • Maximum Power: 45 PS at 9,000 rpm
  • Maximum Torque: 42.6 Nm at 6,000 rpm
  • Transmission: A slick 6-speed return gearbox

The engine is rigid-mounted and serves as a stressed member within the chassis layout. This setup ensures that riders experience refined performance and highly responsive acceleration, whether they are weaving through tightly packed city traffic or exploring wide-open motorways.

Lightweight Handling and Next-Gen Chassis

The bike is constructed around Kawasaki’s proven, lightweight trellis frame, which draws its direct design inspiration from the iconic Ninja H2. By utilising advanced dynamic rigidity analysis, the engineers achieved an absolute sweet spot between structural strength and weight savings. This optimised frame layout contributes massively to the motorcycle’s low curb weight, ensuring light, predictable handling, and natural agility during cornering.

The suspension setup is built to handle various road conditions smoothly:

  • Front Suspension: Telescopic fork featuring 120 mm of wheel travel.
  • Rear Suspension: Horizontal Backlink Swingarm featuring 130 mm of wheel travel.

The bike also comes equipped with Assist & Slipper Clutch technology. This system offers a noticeably lighter clutch lever feel and works to dramatically reduce rear wheel hopping during aggressive downshifts, giving riders plenty of extra comfort and control.

Relaxed Ergonomics and Aggressive Styling

Kawasaki has nailed the balance between sporty control and everyday usability. The Ninja 500 features an upright, relaxed riding position complete with an elevated handlebar and slightly forward-set footpegs. This means riders can confidently spend longer hours in the saddle during weekend rides or longer touring journeys without sacrificing comfort. Furthermore, the slim chassis design paired with an accessible, low seat height ensures a wide variety of riders can easily plant their feet firmly on the ground, inspiring a ton of confidence during low-speed manoeuvres.

Visually, the motorcycle carries the bold, modern Ninja “face”. It features compact twin LED headlights and sharp front spoilers that perfectly reinforce the aggressive identity of the Ninja family. The premium theme continues through to the rear with sharp LED taillights that guarantee excellent visibility.

High-Grade Cockpit and Electronics

The technology on the MY26 Ninja 500 is thoroughly modern. The high-grade cockpit boasts a high-contrast, full LCD instrument panel (TFT instrumentation panel) packed with smart features. The display layout is incredibly well-thought-out, presenting a distinctive bar-style tachometer that stretches neatly over the digital speedometer and other vital trip data. Thanks to built-in smartphone connectivity, riders can stay completely informed and effortlessly engaged throughout every single journey.

Leadership Perspective on the True Ninja Spirit

Mr. Yutaka Yamashita, the Managing Director of India Kawasaki Motors Pvt. Ltd., shared his insights on this exciting arrival. He noted that the Ninja brand has long been cherished worldwide as a premier SuperSport motorcycle brand synonymous with excitement, performance, and individuality.

He explained that by introducing the MY26 Ninja 500 in the iconic Lime Green colour, combined with an attention-grabbing design, the company believes riders will connect with the true Ninja spirit more closely than ever before. He added that because the bike perfectly blends sporty styling, everyday usability, advanced technology, and a fun, approachable parallel-twin engine, it delivers a thrilling experience to an incredibly diverse audience. Ultimately, he expressed complete confidence that this striking new colour option will significantly boost the appeal of the Ninja 500 across the Indian market.
