The latest May 2026 sales report for Bajaj is out, and it is safe to say the automotive giant is having a brilliant run. When looking at the overall picture, including both two-wheelers and commercial vehicles, Bajaj managed to shift a whopping 4,61,257 units this May. Compared to the 3,84,621 units they sold in May 2025, that represents an impressive 20% growth in total sales.

A massive part of this success comes down to a roaring performance in the international markets, though domestic demand is also comfortably on the up. Let’s dive straight into the specific numbers to see how the different segments performed.

Two-Wheeler Segment Enjoys Double-Digit Growth

The two-wheeler division had a highly productive month, with combined domestic and international shipments climbing by 18% overall—going from 3,32,370 units in May last year up to 3,93,204 units in May 2026.

  • Domestic Market: On the home front, two-wheeler sales saw a steady 9% rise. Bajaj sold 2,09,528 motorbikes and scooters locally this month, up from the 1,91,412 units recorded in the same period last year.
  • Exports Market: The real star of the show was the export sector, which skyrocketed by 30%. Bajaj shipped 1,83,676 two-wheelers abroad in May 2026, a substantial leap from the 1,40,958 units exported in May 2025.

Commercial Vehicles Boom on All Fronts

It was an even more dramatic story for Bajaj’s commercial vehicles segment, which clocked an overall sub-total growth of 30%. In total, they moved 68,053 commercial units this month compared to 52,251 in May 2025.

  • Domestic Market: Local demand for commercial vehicles stayed strong, posting a 12% increase. Sales went up from 34,321 units last year to 38,503 units in May 2026.
  • Exports Market: International demand absolutely boomed here, showing a massive 65% change. Bajaj exported 29,550 commercial vehicles this month, compared to just 17,930 units back in May 2025.

The Big Picture: Total Sales Summary for May 2026

When you bundle the two-wheelers and commercial vehicles together, the final tally paints a very pretty picture for the brand:

  • Total Domestic Sales: Climbed by 10%, hitting 2,48,031 units in May 2026 against last year’s 2,25,733 units.
  • Total Export Sales: Surged by 34%, with 2,13,226 units sent overseas this month compared to 1,58,888 units in May 2025.
  • Grand Total: Combined global sales hit 4,61,257 units, securing that fantastic 20% overall growth.

Year-to-Date (YTD) Performance: April to May 2026

Taking a step back to look at the financial year-to-date figures (covering April and May combined), the momentum becomes even clearer. Bajaj has already achieved a 30% jump in total YTD volume, shifting 9,75,049 units so far compared to 7,50,431 units in the same two months last year.

YTD Two-Wheelers

The two-wheeler sub-total for the year-to-date stands at 8,33,157 units, a 28% increase over the 6,50,307 units from last year. This was fueled by a 10% rise in domestic YTD sales (4,19,591 vs 3,80,027 units) and an incredible 53% surge in YTD exports (4,13,566 vs 2,70,280 units).

YTD Commercial Vehicles

The commercial vehicle YTD numbers are flying with a 42% overall jump, reaching 1,41,892 units against last year’s 1,00,124 units. Domestically, they grew 16% (76,650 vs 66,321 units), while YTD commercial exports nearly doubled with a staggering 93% explosion (65,242 vs 33,803 units).

YTD Grand Totals

All in all, the combined April-May domestic performance is up 11% at 4,96,241 units (up from 4,46,348). Meanwhile, the total YTD export market has climbed by 57%, reaching 4,78,808 units compared to 3,04,083 units in the prior year’s period, solidifying an excellent start to the year.
