Honda has just dropped something that will get your pulse racing. Developed by the legendary Honda Racing Corporation (HRC), the CRF 450RX Rally MY2027 has been officially unveiled, and it’s a proper piece of kit designed to redefine what a rally bike can do.

Following a stellar 2026 season—where riders like Martim Ventura and Preston Campbell proved the bike’s mettle at the Dakar—HRC, with a helping hand from RedMoto, is bringing the 2027 model to the public. But you’ll need to be quick: they are sticking to a strictly limited production run of just 50 units.

Dakar-Proven Performance

The stats from the 2026 Dakar Rally tell you everything you need to know about this machine’s reliability. Out of 14 bikes that started the world’s most demanding race, 12 crossed the finish line. It even scooped second and third-place finishes in the Rally2 class and saw Preston Campbell break into the overall top ten.

For the 2027 model, HRC provides all the high-end materials to RedMoto, who handle the assembly and European sales. This ensures that every bike retains that “factory” feel.

Technical Specs: A True Work of Art

This isn’t just a dressed-up dirt bike; it’s a dedicated rally weapon. Here is what makes the CRF 450RX Rally tick:

  • The Engine: A race-spec HRC unit pumping out approximately 58 CV (hp). It features a 6-speed gearbox and an oversized oil radiator to keep things cool when the desert heat hits.
  • Top Speed: You’re looking at roughly 160 km/h.
  • Exhaust: It rocks a titanium Akrapovič silencer—the same one used on the official works bikes—paired with HRC steel headers.
  • Fuel Capacity: A massive 36-litre total capacity split between two front tanks and a 14-litre rear tank, designed for perfect weight distribution.

Elite Engineering and Navigation

The bike features an aluminium twin-beam frame for maximum stability over rocky terrain. However, the real showstopper is the carbon fibre navigation tower. Because it’s positioned far from the bike’s centre of mass, using carbon fibre keeps the front end light and agile. The roadbook angle is manually adjustable, and the whole tower subframe is independent, so you can rip it off quickly for repairs mid-race.

Factory-Level Hardware

Honda hasn’t cut any corners on the component list:

  • Suspension: 49mm Showa forks and a rear shock with an 18mm piston, both featuring titanium coating to reduce friction.
  • Braking: An oversized 300mm front disc for serious stopping power and a thicker rear disc to handle extreme heat.
  • Wheels: High-resistance HAAN hubs (CNC machined) with Takasago Excel rims and integrated cush drives to soak up the nastiest bumps.
  • Protection: A high-strength carbon fibre bash plate protects the engine and the lower 22-litre front tank, even featuring a handy built-in tool compartment.

Price and Availability

If you want to get your hands on one of the 50 examples, deliveries start in the first week of June 2026. The price remains unchanged from the previous version at €31,140.00 (ex-VAT, ex-factory) (Approximately Rs 34.7 lakh).

The bike is fully Euro5+ homologated, making it road-legal across Europe. Pre-orders are open now via the RedMoto website. If you’re lucky enough to be selected, you’ll receive your bike between June and September 2026.

For those planning to tackle the Dakar or other international rallies, HRC has partnered with RS Moto and HT Rally Raid to provide full technical, administrative, and logistical support. It’s basically a “turn-key” solution for anyone looking to go pro.
