Oben Electric has just hosted a showcase for its brand-new Rorr EVO at its flagship Bengaluru showroom in HSR Layout. The company isn’t just showing off a new toy, though; they’ve got their sights firmly set on Karnataka. After a stellar year Oben is betting that Karnataka will account for nearly 30% of all New Rorr EVO sales this financial year.
Why Karnataka is Leading the Charge
Last year, Karnataka was a massive win for Oben Electric, contributing over 20% of their total sales. It’s clearly a hotspot for EV adoption, and with the manufacturing and innovation hub based right there in Bengaluru, the connection makes perfect sense.
Madhumita Agrawal, the Founder and CEO, reckons Bengaluru has been “pivotal” to their journey. The city isn’t just where they sell bikes; it’s where they build them. Oben’s Bengaluru facility can currently pump out 100,000 units a year, with the potential to scale up to a massive 300,000 units if demand keeps climbing.
Meet the New Rorr EVO: Performance Meets Practicality
The Rorr EVO is designed for riders who want that aggressive streetfighter look without sacrificing everyday usability. Here’s what’s under the hood (so to speak):
- Speed and Range: It hits a top speed of 110 km/h and offers an IDC-certified range of 180 km.
- Rapid Charging: You can get from 0 to 80% charge in just 90 minutes.
- Smart Tech: It features “SmartIQ,” an intelligent ride optimisation tech that can boost riding efficiency and range by up to 15%.
- Built for India: With a proprietary 9 kW motor and a 3.4 kWh LFP battery, it’s engineered to handle local weather and road conditions with superior thermal resistance.
It’s not just about the tech, either. Riders get a bit of extra comfort with the segment’s longest seat, a 10-litre storage capacity, a handy reverse mode, and connected vehicle technology for all your safety alerts.
How to Get Your Hands on One
If you’re quick, there’s a bit of a bargain to be had. Oben is offering a special introductory price of ₹99,999 for the first 10,000 customers. Once those are gone, the price jumps up to ₹1,24,999.
- Booking Fee: Just ₹777.
- Deliveries: Nationwide deliveries are set to kick off in June 2026.
Oben Electric is clearly in a hurry to grow. They currently have 10 showrooms in Karnataka and a presence across 18 states with 150 showrooms in total. By the end of the year, they’re planning to more than double that footprint to 350 showrooms.
