Royal Enfield is hitting a massive milestone this year, celebrating 125 years of pure motorcycling. To mark the occasion, the global leader in mid-sized bikes has just announced the 22nd edition of the iconic Himalayan Odyssey. It’s historically been the ultimate testing ground for riders, but for 2026, things are getting even bigger and more inclusive with four distinct routes to choose from.

Registrations are officially live on the Royal Enfield website for what is set to be a soul-stirring pilgrimage through the world’s highest peaks.

Four Ways to Conquer the Himalayas

While the Himalayan Odyssey used to be the haunt of just a few seasoned pros, it’s evolved for a new generation of explorers. This year, the legend is reimagined across four different formats:

  • Himalayan Odyssey Original – The Legendary Mile (25 June – 10 July 2026): This is the classic 16-day expedition. Starting and ending in Chandigarh, it’s a fully supported trek through Himachal, Zanskar, and Ladakh. It’s all about the discipline of riding in formation and the rhythm of long days in the saddle.
  • Himalayan Odyssey Explore – Beyond the Edge of the Map (26 June – 5 July 2026): For those who want something a bit more rugged, this route strips things back to the essentials. Riders carry their own gear and navigate harsher terrain with limited support. It’s a demanding 10-day stint where every kilometre is well-earned.
  • Himalayan Odyssey Kargil Circuit & Nubra Circuit – The Soul of the Himalayas (29 June – 5 July 2026): Starting in Leh, these “Satellite” editions are perfect for those who want to slow down and soak in the culture. Known as “The Frontier & The Sands” and “History & Heritage,” these routes focus on the stories, people, and connections that define the region.

A Journey of 2,200 Kilometres

This isn’t just a quick spin; the Odyssey covers over 2,200 kilometres and crosses some of the highest motorable passes on the planet. Riders will face everything from the wind-carved heights of Khardung La to the incredibly remote reaches of Umling La. It’s a gruelling journey designed to offer quiet clarity and shared hardship against the backdrop of mammoth mountains.

Riding Responsibly

Royal Enfield isn’t just about the ride; they’re also about the impact. Through the #LeaveEveryPlaceBetter initiative, the 2026 Odyssey continues its commitment to responsible travel. This means focusing on conscious riding practices, cutting down on environmental impact, and supporting the local communities that make these epic journeys possible.

At the end of the day, the Himalayan Odyssey is about more than just reaching the highest pass—it’s about discovering what’s within. If you’re ready for a life-altering journey, it’s time to get registered.
