The Bengaluru-based startup Simple Energy is officially shifting the electric vehicle market into high gear. They’ve just announced the price and the start of deliveries for the all-new Simple Ultra, a machine that effectively ends “range anxiety” for good. This marks the brand’s fourth major move in 2026, and it’s arguably their most impressive one yet. Retailing at INR 2,34,999 (ex-showroom), the Simple Ultra is being marketed as India’s longest-range electric scooter. If you’ve been waiting for a reason to ditch the petrol pump, this might be it.
Extreme Range and Rapid Performance
The headline feature here is the massive 6.5 kWh battery. According to Simple Energy, this powerhouse delivers an IDC range of 400 km on a single charge. To put that into perspective, you could almost ride from Bengaluru to Chennai without stopping for a top-up. But lets be real here, IDC range is just for marketing, a 400 km IDC range would translate to close about 280-300 kms of real word range with normal use. But that number is also quite huge and worth about 10 days of 30 km daily ride before needing a charge, which is crazy good!
But the Simple Ultra performance isn’t just about endurance; it’s got some serious muscle, too:
- Acceleration: It blurs from 0 to 40 kmph in just 2.77 seconds.
- Top Speed: It hits a respectable 115 kmph.
- Rider Tech: To keep all that power in check, it comes equipped with four-level traction control and a seven-inch rider’s console.
Part of a Growing Gen 2 Portfolio
Simple Energy has been incredibly busy lately. The Ultra joins an expanding line-up that was refreshed earlier this year:
- Simple One Gen 2: Available in two variants with ranges of 236 km and 265 km, starting from INR 1,94,999.
- Simple OneS Gen 2: Offers a 190 km range for INR 1,74,999.
According to the founder and CEO, Suhas Rajkumar, the Ultra was “engineered with intent” for those who refuse to compromise on distance or speed.
Pan-India Network Expansion
Buying and servicing these high-performance scooters is getting much easier. Simple Energy currently boasts nearly 70 touchpoints across the country, including major hubs like Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, and Goa.
The brand isn’t stopping there, though. They’ve confirmed they are heading to Nagpur, Ranchi, and Bhubaneshwar in the coming months to further strengthen their reach.

At INR 2,34,999, it sits at the premium end of the market, but the 400 km IDC range is currently in a league of its own. For long-distance daily commuters or those who simply hate charging every night, the Ultra offers a unique proposition and most importantly peace of mind.
