Toyota Innova Crysta Launched in India

Toyota Kirloskar Motor has just given the venerable Innova Crysta a fresh update for 2026. This looks like it might be the grand finale for the long-running Toyota MPV, with rumours suggesting it is set to bow out and be discontinued next year in 2027. If anyone is looking to grab one, this model year refresh could be the final chance.

Toyota has kept things strictly cosmetic this time around, meaning no mechanical changes have been made to the Crysta under the hood. However, a few styling tweaks and extra kit mean prices have climbed, making the Crysta costlier by anywhere from Rs 32,000 up to Rs 83,000, depending on which variant is chosen. The updated range now starts at Rs 19.72 lakh and tops out at Rs 26.63 lakh (all prices ex-showroom).

Every variant can be configured in either a 7-seater layout (featuring captain seats in the second row) or an 8-seater layout, except for the top-spec ZX trim which is exclusively a 7-seater. For the budget-conscious or commercial buyers, a fleet version of the base GX variant is also available and priced identically to the standard version.

What’s New for the 2026 Model?

Toyota has treated the exterior to some subtle design tweaks. The front grille has been revised, and the bumper chrome garnishes at both the front and the rear have been given a bit of a facelift. Depending on the variant selected, the MPV rolls on either 16-inch or 17-inch alloy wheels, and comes with automatic LED projector headlights and halogen fog lamps.

Stepping inside, the interior gets a noticeable lift with a new dual-tone seat upholstery. A fresh “Grace Copper” theme has been applied to several cabin trims, including the door trims and the steering wheel. Toyota has also refreshed the detailing across the switches, AC controls, and even the handy seatback table for second-row passengers.

In terms of modern tech conveniences, a wireless charger has been added to the VX and ZX trims, while a tyre-pressure monitoring system is now included on the top-tier ZX trim.

Depending on the chosen variant, owners will also get:

  • Ambient lighting
  • Leather-wrapped steering wheel
  • Automatic climate control
  • 8-way powered driver’s seat
  • Push-button start/stop
  • Cruise control
  • Power windows (front and rear)
  • 12-volt port and accessory power outlet

Safety Tech and Specifications

On the safety front, every single Innova Crysta comes standard with ABS (anti-lock braking system) with EBD (electronic brakeforce distribution) and hill-start assist. The braking setup consists of discs at the front and drums at the rear.

When it comes to keeping everyone safe in a crash, the GX and GX+ trims are equipped with 3 airbags, while the higher-spec VX and ZX trims feature a total of 7 airbags.

Physically, the vehicle measures 4,735 mm in length. While the official range and mileage figures are still to be tested, the tried-and-tested mechanical configuration remains completely unchanged.

The Innova Crysta continues to draw power from its reliable 2.4-litre diesel engine, pumping out 150hp and 343Nm of torque. This motor is paired exclusively to a 5-speed manual gearbox, and drivers can switch between standard Eco and Power drive modes depending on the journey.
