Two New Bajaj Pulsar Motorcycles to Launch Before Indian Festive Season

Bajaj Auto is preparing a major product offensive for the upcoming festive season, confirming plans to roll out 10 new two-wheeler models over the next six weeks. The big news is that this will include two all-new motorcycles under its Pulsar range, alongside fresh variants of the Chetak electric scooter.

The upcoming product refresh forms part of Bajaj’s strategy to expand its market share across both internal combustion engine (ICE) and electric vehicle (EV) segments.

Brand-New Pulsar 125 and Pulsar 150 Models Confirmed

Speaking following the publication of Bajaj Auto’s Q1 FY27 financial results, Joint Managing Director Rakesh Sharma confirmed that two brand-new Pulsar models will arrive in the 125cc and 150cc engine categories.

The next-generation Pulsar 125 has already been spotted during road testing on multiple occasions in India. These upcoming launches are designed to complete a wider portfolio overhaul for the brand, with Sharma describing the releases over the next six months as strategic moves that will help the company “open up new segments.”

Alongside the two Pulsar models, Bajaj will expand its electric mobility footprint by adding extra variants to its Chetak e-scooter lineup.

Manufacturing Capacity to Exceed 9 Million Units

To support this aggressive product rollout and growing market demand, Bajaj Auto announced a significant manufacturing expansion. The brand aims to increase its overall production capacity by over 25 percent, scaling up from its current output of roughly 7 million units per annum to over 9 million units.

Key operational details regarding the expansion include:

  • Current Installed Capacity: Currently stands at 7.2 million units annually.
  • Phased Execution: The increase will be rolled out progressively across several quarters using a hybrid strategy of brownfield expansion at existing facilities and the setup of an all-new greenfield plant.
  • Target Segments: The location for the new facility is yet to be finalised, but the added capacity will primarily cater to electric two-wheelers, electric three-wheelers, premium motorcycles, and select ICE three-wheeler models.

Robust Q1 FY27 Financial Results Drive Growth Plan

This product and infrastructure expansion builds directly upon the FY27 roadmap outlined by Chairman Niraj Bajaj in the company’s annual report. The strategic plan zeroes in on three primary pillars:

  1. Strengthening dominance in the domestic 125cc-plus motorcycle segment.
  2. Accelerating market growth for the Chetak EV.
  3. Accelerating global export expansion.

Strong financial backing for this roadmap comes off the back of record-breaking figures in Q1 FY27. Bajaj Auto reported a 37 percent year-on-year increase in revenue from operations, reaching Rs 17,244 crore. Total vehicle sales hit a record high of 1.44 million units during the quarter, while export volumes surged by 52 percent, marking the manufacturer’s highest-ever quarterly export performance.
