Bajaj Auto has officially brought back a legend. After a three-year hiatus following its 2022 discontinuation, the 180 is back to bridge the gap between the Pulsar 150 and the 220F. Priced at ₹1,22,490 (ex-showroom), the new Pulsar 180 stays true to its muscular roots while packing just enough modern tech to keep things interesting for today’s riders.

Familiar Punch with a Torque Boost

Under the tank, the 2026 model retains the tried-and-tested 178.6cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine. While the core heart is familiar, it’s been updated to meet the latest emission norms and play nicely with E20 fuel.

  • Power: 17 PS @ 8,500 rpm (unchanged).
  • Torque: 15 Nm @ 6,500 rpm (a subtle but welcome 0.8 Nm increase).
  • Gearbox: A smooth 5-speed unit handles the shifts.

The bike still offers that “goldilocks zone” performance—more grunt than a 150cc but easier to handle in the city than the bigger 220cc or 250cc twins.

Modern Tech Meets Classic Styling

Bajaj hasn’t messed with the iconic silhouette, but they have given it lighting and tech upgrade similar to the what the 150 is now.

  • LED Everything: The 2026 Pulsar 180 now features a full LED headlamp and LED turn indicators, moving away from the old halogen setup.
  • Digital Cockpit: It gets a new LCD instrument cluster equipped with Bluetooth connectivity. You can now get call and SMS alerts directly on your dash, though it still misses out on turn-by-turn navigation.
  • Convenience: A USB Type-A charging port is now standard, so you won’t run out of juice on long city commutes.

The Build: Sturdy and Reliable

The underpinnings remain “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” The bike continues to use 37mm telescopic front forks and twin gas-charged shocks at the rear.

  • Brakes: You get a 280mm front disc and a 230mm rear disc, supported by single-channel ABS.
  • Tyres: It rolls on 17-inch alloys with a 90-section front and a chunky 120-section rear tubeless tyre.
  • Capacity: A generous 15-litre fuel tank paired with a kerb weight of 156 kg makes it a stable highway companion.

Colours and Availability

To keep it looking fresh, Bajaj is offering the Pulsar 180 in five colour options:

  1. Black Blue
  2. Black Gold (the standout choice for a premium feel)
  3. Black Grey
  4. Black Red
  5. White

Every colour features sporty new graphics and a carbon-fibre-like finish on the front mudguard. One major change to note is the move to a single-piece seat, replacing the old split-seat setup, though the sporty split grab rails remain.

At ₹1,22,490, the 2026 Bajaj Pulsar 180 undercuts rivals like the TVS Apache RTR 180 and the Honda Hornet 2.0. It’s a straightforward, no-nonsense sporty commuter that brings back a beloved nameplate for a new generation.
