The Royal Enfield Himalayan Odyssey has just wrapped up its biggest chapter in almost thirty years, and what a way to mark the occasion. This year’s 22nd edition of the Himalayan Odyssey brought together riders from eight different countries, making it the most international outing the event has ever seen.
The timing couldn’t have been better either. 2026 happens to be Royal Enfield’s 125th year, and the brand chose this milestone to shake things up. For the first time in the Himalayan Odyssey’s history, the ride moved beyond its usual single-format setup and split into three separate expeditions – Original, Xplore, and Nubra. Between the three routes, riders collectively clocked up more than 4,200km, taking on some of the highest motorable roads anywhere in the world as they wound their way through the Himalayas.
What’s kept people coming back to the Himalayan Odyssey over 22 editions hasn’t really changed much, if you ask the riders themselves. It’s the same pull it always was – testing roads that don’t let up, landscapes that feel properly wild and untouched, and that sense of camaraderie that only comes from grinding out a tough journey together with a bunch of strangers who become mates by the end of it.
There was also a bigger purpose running through this year’s Himalayan Odyssey. Royal Enfield carried forward its #LeaveEveryPlaceBetter initiative for the 2026 edition, encouraging every rider taking part to leave the towns, villages and landscapes they passed through in better shape than they found them.
With three expeditions, eight nations represented, and over 4,200km covered across some of the world’s most demanding terrain, the Royal Enfield Himalayan Odyssey 2026 has set a pretty high bar for what the ride could look like going forward.
